We had to make a claim for water damage from an ice dam. Came out to $20,000. Got the check, but it had to be endorsed by our mortgage company. So mailed it to North Carolina. On the return trip, the check, and our mail from a full three days just didn’t get delivered. It was scanned in on our informed delivery, but just never delivered. Filed a claim and they’re just like, “Oh well.” So now I’ve had to put the $20k on my credit card so we can have our walls put back in while we go through this whole process again.

I was bad and let the water sit for too long. Got a bit swampy. I’ve changed the water several times, put a dilute bleach solution, vinegar, etc, but there’s still a scum line in the water and it seems to be like a biofilm that keeps reseeding the new water. Even with the purification tablets, within a week the water is murky. Anyone have any ideas?
