The dreams. MAKE IT STOP

I was heavily addicted to THC carts and was able to quit almost 2 months ago, cold turkey. After a rough couple weeks, I feel like I am past the worst of it. The only thing that's still causing my trouble is the CONSTANT DREAMS.

I (stupidly) had no idea that my lack of dreaming was caused by weed. I just thought I had naturally "grown out of" dreaming. Nope. Now I am dreaming every night, and I absolutely hate it. I feel like I wake up exhausted because my brain has been running laps in the dreamworld, and even when I get 8+ hrs of sleep, I wake up like I only got 3 hrs.

Are there any methods to prevent dreaming?? I've read about some meds, but they seem to only treat "bad" dreams by producing a calming, anti-anxiety effect. While I have had lots of stressful dreams since I quit, some of them downright scary, to me they're just as bad as my normal or pleasant dreams.

I am so happy I quit, and I won't be looking back... but damn. I wish there was a healthy way to turn the dream switch OFF.

EDIT: Thank you all so much for the responses! Glad to hear that I'm still in "recovery mode" and it could still improve. The mind is a beautiful, crazy thing.

Are people cheering on Team Japan anywhere in particular on Sunday? (bars/pubs/taverns/etc.)

Nippon Olé, and all that. 🎌
