Advice for a soon to be owner

Hi everyone, sorry if this is a post that you get a lot, but at the end of the week I am about to acquire two Fischers that an acquaintance is getting rid of. Their age and sex is unknown and they have been in a pet shop (UK) until 2 weeks ago.

I've known people who have lovebirds but I don't think they took as good care of them as they should, and I really want to make sure I get this right. The plan so far is as follows:

When I get them, I will set them up in my living room and not try to get them out or interact too much with them for the first two days. I thought I might sit near their cage and read or something so they get used to my presence in a non- threatening way. I'm planning on feeding them lovebird specific pellets with fresh veggies blitzed up (I think some people call it chop?) and occasionally seeds as a treat. They already have a nice big cage with lots of natural perches and toys, and I'm going to get them some foraging toys and a cuttlebone too. After 2 days I will start encouraging them to accept food from me and then let them out of the cage to fly around my secured room. I will also wheel their cage out into the garden so they get fresh air and sunlight.

Am I right in thinking they won't be particularly affectionate with me since they will have each other as bonded companions? Do I need a UV lamp, and if so, what is a good brand to get? And I've read they should have at least 2 hours out of the cage every day, should I be aiming for a lot more? I'm a SAHM so I am busy with my toddler, but I can give them a lot of time and attention around that.

Also if anyone has any specifics tips or advice for a beginner, that would be really appreciated.

Thanks for taking the time to read this 😁

PSA: This is not a full Looney Tunes album

I just want to put this out there because I will lose my goddamn mind if I see ANOTHER post about this album being lazy and/or worse than the Simpsons one.

It is NOT a full collab like the Simpsons album. They clearly spent a ton of money and time on making the Simpsons album so detailed. THAT IS NOT THE NORM! This is a farm/harvest themed album with a LT feature. You guys must be new because you would have known this from the Posh Pets/Hello Kitty one from LITERALLY THIS YEAR.

I'm not saying anyone has to love it. I don't even care about LT, I know hardly anything about it so I don't really care about this album. But please, please, please at the very least, stop making new posts complaining that it's low effort. I promise you, every complaint you have has been MILKED TO DEATH in the countless other posts about it.

Thank you 😅

Advice please - Sparrow fledgling?

Woke up this morning to this chick outside my house. Not sure if it is a sparrow or a blackbird. I had to move it as it was in the middle of a fairly busy road. It's eyes stayed mostly shut but opened a few times and it seemed to breathe quite heavy which I am worried about but thought could just be stress at my presence. It can hop about pretty well and did hop slightly away when I put it down. It also kind of tried to nip my fingers.

I just moved it a few feet into some bushes at the front of my house. The mum was nearby and chirping a lot but I am worried it was injured or needed help. I am trying to stay out of it but just wondering if anyone has any advice or thinks it might not survive. Thanks!
