Holy S*** I can’t believe I found this
You guys, I’m 36 years old and I’ve been dealing with this my entire life. It’s gotten significantly worse in the last few years. I’ve had an EGD, been told it’s acid reflux etc etc. no one believes me that I can’t burp ( except my family and best friend who have seen me air vomit a million times). Googled my symptoms for the first time in a while and found Retrograde Cricopharyngeus Dysfunction (R-CPD/No Burp Syndrome). I actually almost cried because maybe there is some hope.
My first question, what kind of specialist should I be referred to for this? I live in Northern CA (about an hour north of sac) and have anthem blue cross insurance. If anyone has a specific specialist in this area that they know of that performs the Botox procedure I would love a recommendation.
My GP retired recently and I haven’t met my new one yet so I want to make sure I go in with all the information of what I need her to do in case she isn’t familiar with this. ENT? Gastro again even though they never figured this out? Any guidance would be appreciated!
