Measure P?

Does anyone have info on the pros and cons of Measure P? It’s the proposed amendment to the county charter, which would separate the office of the Director of Public Works from the office of the Road Commissioner.

There is no info in the ballot guide, and can’t find anything online. I have asked about 8 neighbors and none of us know how to vote on this one! Thanks y’all.

Hi everyone, We’re looking for a 1 bed / 1 bath apartment in Chico. We recently started working here, can provide proof of income/job offers, and we also have a co-signer. Our credit history is just new. If you have any available place or know someone renting, please message me. Thanks!

Vet recommendations?

Moved nearby. We have an 11 yo dog and an 11 yo cat. We had taken our dog to Erickson for an initial check but they quoted us between 3-4k for a teeth cleaning. Our vet in Florida we were going to didn’t even charge more than max 1200 for a teeth cleaning with extractions. I’ve seen things about Erickson price gouging so I’m trying to see if that’s normal for this area or if we should look somewhere else? I didn’t love the Dr that much either and it seems pretty pricy.
I think we’re going to establish our cat at the hospital for cats? But haven’t made steps to do that yet. Any suggestions?
(Background: Our dog is v nervous with vets after having her ear flap removed for a MCT back in 2023)

Sober groups?

4 years sober here, recently moved to town. I've been to quite a few meetings, mostly online, but haven't been for probably 2 years. With work and moving stress I've found myself struggling a bit and I'm just curious what sobriety groups are available in town? I'm not really a 12-stepper but I do need community sometimes.

Thank you!

We should not spend a dime on rebuilding the mansion.

Bidwell was the least harmful wealthy colonizer of his era. The park is named after him. That is enough.

The money would be better spent on damn near anything else.

Rehoming options

Hi guys, I was hoping anyone might have some advice or suggestions on dog rehoming? Due to recent circumstances, I have found it the best option to rehome my dog, but am having troubles with how/where to go about that, and would really prefer not having to take him to a shelter at all. If anyone knows good avenues of rehoming, or is interested in a Mini American Eskimo, in the chico area, pls lmk!

Is it just my phone or Verizon absolutely SUCKS in Chico?

I moved from SD 2 years ago and my data worked great there. Here in Chico? Absolutely useless. It doesn’t work in the majority of the city. I can’t even think about leaving home without gps already in place otherwise I have to drive around town until I find a spot that gives some data crumbles. I’m so frustrated!! I had a friend tell me it’s data throttle. Just curious to see if anyone else has this issue

Dirtbag Tattoo Artist Saga continues...

Dirtbag tattoo artist Tanner Drake back at it again. Posting his children to gain sympathy? This “narrative” was confirmed by himself when the allegations came out. Search his name in this sub to get the full story and screenshots. Tanner, no one is calling you out to gain popularity or whatever. You will not live this down in our community. Do not get tattooed by this man he is dangerous. Tell your friends, families, coworkers, anyone who will listen. Do not trust Tanner Drake with your body.

Disposing of dead fox

Very surprised this evening by a dead fox in my front yard. Chico Animal Control doesn’t seem to have any information regarding my specific issue on the city website. Anyone have any ideas?

**Update** Chico Animal Control picked the carcass up today.

Lost Cat on Terrace Drive and E. First

Out indoor only cat Marshall got out last night. He is indoor only and very timid when outside. We are offering a reward for anyone who helps us find him. I've attached the missing poster and some other pictures of him.
