My Ring Intercom is connected to an old Videx 3011 intercom.

Everything works as should do — when the front door is rung I am instantly informed via the app, and I can unlock the door through the Ring app. People at the door can also hear me talking very clearly from my app.

However, I cannot hear on my Ring app whoever is speaking into the microphone hole on the Videx unit at the front door. If they shout, I can just about hear a muffled voice. When I use the Videx intercom handset inside my flat, I can hear them perfectly fine.

I believe this exact same issue has been raised in another Reddit post as well as on the official Ring forum, but I cannot discover the resolution (I have tried adjusting the volume in the app, but this does nothing).

My Areca palm of a few years has gone through a lot (including the beginning of a thrip infestation which I stopped with predatory mites).

This year, there are plenty of new fronds. However, they seem to grow short, reaching only a few inches before unfurling its leaves. Why is this? Is there any way to encourage the new fronds to grow taller?

Even though this asparagus fern now gets a lot of sunlight, it previously didn’t, and so is quite leggy.

Should I prune it in order to make it bushier, or should I leave it alone?

Also, how healthy would you say it is generally?
