Debt Cycle - I want to break the cycle

Since I was in my 20s, I have been in and out of debt. I cannot seem to break the cycle . The funny thing I have noticed i get into debt over me being avoidance; I have a " I will sort it out later mentality. Another example: I changed jobs; I kept on saying I will change the direct debit day. This happens with parking fines; I racked up to 1000k worth of debt from it. I am paying off my last payment this week.

Last year I paid off a 3500 k credit card. I paid off the credit card, but now I find myself in debt again, 6k worth of debt less than a year later. I only seem to act if there is stress and i am anxious. I want to break out of that loop. I have written down all my debts and engaged with lenders. I have set up a budget for my monthly incoming and outgoings. I have had to be honest with myself that i am not being smart with my money. I want to change my money script. I also love reading and seeing people's success stories on how they went for 20k debt to 20 k savings and investments.

I am willing to do the hard work and change this . I earn a good salary just about 3.5k a month ! I want to pay off the debt. The only debt i am willing to have is my mortgage. I have a goal of maxing out my Stocks and Shares ISA in one year and building 3 months of livings expenses saved for emergencies and have a house savings pot with at lease 10k. My goal is for this to be done by 2028

If anyone has been in a similar place or is in a smilar place and is looking for an accountability partner. Happy to be that person.

I am doing weekly money check-ins with myself and a monthly audit after payday. This is to track debt and savings and to review budgeting.

I am going to kick this habit. I will be. Debt-free in 2027 !!!!
