Nose hsv 1 : need help what to use on it valtrex not working

My daughter has been battling this hsv on her nose and hasn’t really gone away.
We use Valtrex when it starts and it’s one big morning and night when she feels the flare coming and then it will go away.
Lately it’s not working it’s been like this everyday for like a month. I am at my wits end trying to help her.
She doesn’t put any lotion or creams on her face.
