The Longest Goodbye: Based On A Eurasian True Story Of Separation,Loss, Survival And The 45-Year Journey Of Reunion With Sibling.

After 45 years of separation,
Countless attempts, and many moments when I believe I may never
find her…… a miracle finally happened.

My sister, Irene Angelus, and I were reunited.

Those forty-five years were not wasted.

Because in the end, love endured.
And the impossible became possible.

This journey taught me that miracles do not happen by accident.

They happen when you refuse to give up.

No matter how long it takes.
No matter how far the distance.
No matter how impossible it feels.

The miracle only happens
If you don’t give up.

The was THE LONGEST GOODBYE.

My Grief Monster

This is my grief monster. He was born the day my husband died. I was really frightened of him at first and I thought the best thing I could do was fight him.  For a long time I tried really hard to keep him locked up in the darkest corner of my mind, but he always found a way to get out.

Eventually I realized that, no matter how hard I tried to ignore him, my grief monster wasn’t going anywhere – so I decided to invite him in. Once we got to talking I realized that we actually had a lot in common – we both really missed my husband and we both really wanted to remember him.

After that, I let my grief monster go everywhere with me.  Even though he still made me sad sometimes, I knew he meant well.
Although it seems scary, acknowledging your grief monster is an important part of grieving.  True the grief monsters will cause you pain, but they become far less terrifying when you face them in the light of day.  Actually, grief monsters can also help you to grow and do new things
