Accept Pace Change?

Hey! I just want some advice. Today I absolutely CRUSHED the reccomended paces. To be honest though, I only did so well because I felt great today. I may have pushed too hard though because the last mile I had to walk a few times lol.

My interval session last week I did sooooooo terrible. I may have only done bad because of the heat (I live in south Florida), but the paces were way easier than the ones today and I had to keep stopping because of how fatigued I felt. I could keep making excuses as to why it went poorly, but I should have been able to do that run. Additionally, I had an easy run the next day and I couldn't even finish that one without stopping (the heat). To be fair, I also did do today's workout in 91° weather (felt like 105°), so maybe I'm acclimated now? Idk.

Next week will be my last week of the plan, but I am not sure if I should accept the pace change as today may have just been a really good day for me.

LOG BOLC

Headed to LOG BOLC pretty soon and was curious about what makes it so academically challenging? The PT standards don't seem bad but I keep seeing people on here saying you NEED to study when my mentors have said it was a cake walk?

With that do you have any tips for the best way to approach the tests and such?

Also how is the hotel?? Do we get what we need to cook such as pots and pans?

What should I use for this Acne???

Hey (F21)!! I know my skin isn't horrible but I am CONSISTENTLY getting acne around my lips and on my chin. It is the most annoying thing ever and I am HORRIBLE at not picking at it. I use to never get acne, but ever since I stopped birth control, I have been breaking out kind of often.

I currently have the same routine for morning and night:

  1. Cerave hydrating cream to foam cleanser

  2. Byoma balancing face mist

  3. The Ordinary Hylaronic Acid 2% + B5

  4. The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution (every other day)

  5. The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA

Thank you!

Treadmill vs Outdoors

So I live in South Florida and we are currently going through a heat wave. I have just started really getting into running and Runna has helped me accomplish this through their get faster plan, but it has been SO HOT LATELY!! To the point where I have now started running on the treadmill more than outdoors.

Today I had my first 6 miler in MONTHS (block run, so it had paces) and was planning on doing it outside but since it currently "feels like 106°", I did it on the tread and killed it!

I'm just curious about what people's take is of the treadmill as I am not an experienced runner. Do you find that you are able to sustain about the same pace on the treadmill as outside? Is it worth just sucking it up in the heat to be better (if you actually get that much better)? Should I just start waking up earlier so that it's less hot?

This is probably backwards, but I have been doing a lot of my easy runs on the tread and my tempo/intervals outside. I have not found any problem meeting the paces Runna has asked me to do. Please let me know your thoughts!!

How many days a week is optimal?

Hey! Just wondering what your opinion is for the question in the title. I currently lift 3x a week and run 3x a week. I am trying to run faster and am concerned I am not running enough days to get better. Runna often times only has easy and long runs scheduled for me during the week. I feel like I am not getting better with only that. Pleaseee lmk your thoughts.

I love strength training and don't want running to affect my lifting. But, if I need to add a run on the same day as my lifting I will in order to get better.
