Aurum Brewing

Seems like the only active beer sub in Canada is for TO, but just got back from PEC and Aurum is doing really great beer. Nascent set of breweries doing traditional styles, namely True History but I'd add Tooth and Nail. Aurum does it really well. Their Czech pilsner and Keller are really well made (hefe is noteworthy as well). Hope they break through, it's quality beer. Recommend stopping by if you're around Belleville.

Tides Gear?

Hi all, just visiting and looking to grab some Halifax Tides gear for someone. Can anyone point me to a shop selling their merchandise? Ideally without walking the kids up to their pitch (if they sell anything there). Thanks!

Regular buster in front of Chateau Laurier

Can nothing be done to get rid of buddy with the ball cap that stands on the Locks overview spot and belts out atrocious karaoke?

It's one of the nicest spots in the city, at the nexus of Elgin, the Precinct, and Lowertown, and this guy is out there regularly making every cm of space within 500ft absolutely intolerable. Is there no bylaw against this?

Bit of a weird one.

Last week my 11 year old daughter came home from school and proudly showed off a horrific looking "wound" on her arm that her friends had drawn on her. Like a Halloween style flesh wound. I said "gross", and didn't think much of it - it actually did look pretty well done!

But then twice this week she has come home with similar drawings in her arms (from a different friend). Again, I said "yikes" or something, but then got an uneasy feeling and told her I wanted her to stop taking part in whatever this thing is at school.

Posting to see whether anyone knows if something is going on? Guess I'm a bit worried this is some aspect of nihilistic extremism punching through on the school yard. Kind of wondering if I should raise it with her teacher.

Hi all, ICCU blew last week. 2024 AWD, ~20000km. Part unavailable for at least a couple months. Lots of pointers for US folks in dealing with dealerships and Hyundai, but often in the context of lemon laws.

Anyone in Canada have experiences with prolonged ICCU waits and what you managed to get or not get out of the company and dealers?

I've made a TC report and registered for the class action out in BC.

Any pointers appreciated.
