Is being miserable at work contagious?
It sounds like a dumb obvious question but it’s so draining working with people that are miserable and moaning about stuff every single shift, and I often join in on it which puts me in a bad mood. Surely this cant be the same everywhere?
I work as a chef and joined my current job 4 months ago with a fresh slate, but the cracks are apparent and I can see who has drama/issues with who. There’s always someone getting slagged off whether it’s the pot washer being lazy, then complains they have too much to do or its other people not cleaning up after themselves or picking up the slack which causes resentment in the team.
I’m genuinely fed up of moaning. Is there a world where the whole shift isn’t just b*tching and moaning? It’s the same energy everywhere I work (it’s not me starting it I promise).
Before going into work I set the intention of not getting involved, to just smile and nod. But when I see someone has gone home early and left a mess (again) the cycle continues.
God i’m tired 🥲
