Had to sell her
She was beautiful, but we just didn’t get along.
Rollei 6008i
My last post didn’t go over so well :-O I intended to say, hey, if you have never printed your images, you might want to check it out. Poor wording on my part. So now for something different.
Here is my Rollei 6008 Integral. IMO, it’s brilliant. It was widely regarded as one of the most advanced medium-format SLR cameras ever made. It's exceptionally well built. It has multi-metering modes, TTL flash metering, auto bracketing, and auto film advance, to name a few. Another cool thing is that you don’t need to remove the used spool; load it the other way around, flip it, and insert it back into the cassette. Like many film cameras, batteries can be an issue. I had to have mine re-celled which meant I needed another charger. You can see the size next to the Mamiya. This is one I’m never selling.
Your images were not meant to be seen on a screen
I went to photograph the Ocean and the waves crashing over the rocks. Then I turned around.
If you can, make a print. Photographs are meant to be seen on paper. You control the image. Don’t let someone else’s uncalibrated monitor or over saturated screen define your work.
Not everyone has the space or budget for their own setup, and that’s fine. Many cities have print labs where you can do this for a fraction of the cost of owning equipment. Try it once, and you may never look at your work the same way again.
My 35mm collection
My two favoriate 35mm brands.
Edit, forgot to mention. The F3 has never had a roll put through it. It was new old stock when I bought it. Now it’s gone so long unused I don’t know if I can shoot it. :-|
