I think the main reason Aunt Vidala is so interesting to me is how different she is from the books.

In the books Vidala is a sadist and a true believer in Gilead. But in the show, seeing Vidala's backstory, how she genuinely cares for the girls and how disrespected she is by Lydia, they went into a completely different direction in a very good way.

At first I wasn't sold on the actors chosen for the roles but I think Mabel Li was a great fit for the character. I really hope Vidala survives and doesn't become collateral or a bad character.

Readable testimonies from Rachel's Package back in S1

Apparently there are actual biographies from Rachel's Package, taken from the THT wiki.

It must piss Vidala off considerably to never be addressed correctly

I remember, back in Season 4 episode 3 of THT when June is being interrogated, and June calls Aunt Lydia "Lydia", without her title, and how pissed off Lydia became because of it.

But it occurred to me that in the Testaments, we see Aunt Lydia constantly address Vidala in the wrong way, never using "Aunt".

*Not never, but Aunt Lydia often never uses "Aunt" when talking to her, which probably reminds Vidala of her smaller position as an Aunt.

I'll admit, I'm dissappointed at the fact that the show dropped the D.C. veils, it was something I wanted to see in the series. I enjoyed seeing the new coverings of Marthas, Handmaids and the Aunts, but why were they forgotten? It seems like a big detail they decided to not show? From a lore perspective, it makes no sense that Gilead would liberalize to an extent that the coverings would be dropped.
