5v5 Chalk Talk: What is Mesh?
Mesh is a go-to passing concept in college and pro 11v11 football. No defense has been able to consistently stop it. The same goes for the 5v5 flag version. Create chaos and confusion on the defense; overwhelm them with crossing routes.
This video (and this text guide) demonstrate how to run Mesh in the 5v5 flag format, the basic routes, pre-snap reads against various defenses, and the post-snap QB read progression that will find the open receiver. Game film included at the end of the whiteboard session.

Chalk Talk: #13 Three Verts for 5v5 Flag Football
In the traditional 11v11 Air Raid, the 4 Verts concept is simply called "6". As in, this play can get us 6 points anytime we call it.
The 5v5 version is no different. Three Verts tests your opponent's defense deep forcing them to respect your QB's arm. If they don't, it's 6 points for the good guys.
This video details the basic assignments, reads, timing, and execution needed to run it successfully.

The best play callers in football don’t just pick from a menu of cool plays. They have a play calling system specifically designed to:

- Maintain a level of control.
- Keep the defense on its heels.
- Play up-tempo, fast-paced offense.

This video/post will help any offensive play caller read the defense pre-snap and call plays that exploit the weak spots in the four most common flag football coverages.
I'm a certified Air Raid Offensive Coordinator who spent the last seven seasons developing a version of the Air Raid for my son's 5v5 youth team. Using just six offensive plays and five practice drills, our team of neighborhood kids holds their own against some of the best teams in our city.
If your team needs to score more points, start by getting a read of the defense. From there, you can pick them apart using the Air Raid 5v5 playbook.
