Support letter
I have an upcoming AlJ hearing in September. My treating doctor of 3 years (Kaiser PCP) wrote a support letter for me. Do Judges put weight on this type of letters. I’ve attached a little snippet of what was written. Is this helpful?

Just got my hearing date assigned this morning.
My wife and I got selected for tomorrow’s presale. Mine was at 10:00 AM and wife is at 4 PM. I don’t think we’re going to use my wife’s because I can probably get what we want on my time slot. I wished there was a way to transfer my wife’s time slot to someone else. Hope most people get what they want tomorrow
Hi everyone,
We are tired of the high cost of living here in CA and planning to retire in the Philippines with my family of 4 (myself, spouse, and two kids). We’re still fairly young ages (44, 41, 15, and 12)I will be taking home $8,500 USD/month after taxes between my SSDI and VA disability. I’m looking for some advice from locals, fellow expats and veterans. I am originally from the Philippines (Bataan) but left when I was 9 and only been back once. My family circle is small and I would rather get an outside perspective.
Location: We want a safe, family-friendly area with good international schools and access to quality healthcare. Considering areas like BGC/Manila, or Angeles City/Subic. Also considering province life like Bataan. What is the most realistic monthly budget for a premium lifestyle in these areas? We would also like to get at least 3-4 vacations per year either to other Asian countries or different islands.
Healthcare: I know VA only covers service-connected issues. For general family care and emergencies, what are the best private hospitals in these areas and what does private insurance typically cost?
Cost of Living: What are some hidden costs I should anticipate for a family of 4.
Would $8500 a month afford us a comfortable lifestyle in the Philippines because we’re barely living here in CA between rent and other bills. We will also have no debt if we do decide to move there. Thanks everyone
I applied in Feb 2026 as a 100% P&T veteran. My file was flagged for expedited processing and got denied May 20. If I file for reconsideration appeal, will it’s still be expedited again automatically or do I have to call SSA and send my P&T letter again? TIA
