Should I run thicker oil in my 2017 Civic?
My 2017 Honda Civic EX has 96,000 miles and is calling for 0W-20 oil for the oil change. I’ve seen debates online about the problems with 0W-20 oil being too thin and potentially causing issues. I’m also unsure how much climate plays in part here. Most of my life, i’ve lived in south Florida and haven’t had to worry about severe cold, but this year i’m in Indiana and i’m not sure if the more extreme cold could affect what type of oil i run. Should i just keep running the 0W-20 per manufacturer spec? or should i up it to a 5W-20 or 5W-30? TIA
