Almost all delays during this storm are signal problems… we NEED CBTC

EDIT: CBTC infrastructure is largely wireless and the cables for it have been installed above grade intentionally to avoid flooding. When I posted this most of the lines were delayed due to signal problems expect the L due to mechanical problems on a train and west side irt partially suspended due to flooding. I am not saying flooding isn’t an issue but at the time of posting those other delays were due to signal problems. I have had delays 3 days this week on the B due to signal problems. It’s something that is an issue daily. If we abandoned the 1930s signaling system with ground mounted cables, it would significantly cut down on delays.
