I live in Texas and the majority of my dog hunting will be dove, waterfowl, squirrels and rabbits.
I had a Chesapeake Bay Retriever growing up and he was the absolute best. But I can’t seem to find anyone the raises them without costing a fortune.
Adopting from a rescue is not out of the question,(it’d be preferred by the wife honestly) but it’s been my experience that those adopted out don’t really have a lot of prey drive, and are not keen on sudden sounds or loud noises.
