How do you get back on track after a really bad month of eating? Should i do water fast?

I recently moved back into my dorm after spending a month with my parents during the holidays, and honestly, it was a really bad month for me when it came to eating. I was eating pretty mindlessly and stopped caring about my usual routine, and I ended up gaining around 5 kg from the weight I had worked really hard to reach.

Now that I’m back at my dorm, I really want to get back into a consistent routine, but it feels surprisingly difficult after basically letting go of everything for a month. I’m active and normally enjoy boxing, running, and working out, but I’ve kind of lost my motivation and consistency with the eating parts since my progress has been ruined.

For anyone who has gone through something similar, how did you actually get yourself back on track after a long period of mindless eating? Did you just return to your normal routine and let things settle naturally? I’ve even wondered whether I should do something drastic like a water fast first, but I’m not sure if that would actually help or make things worse. I’d really appreciate any advice!

I’m tired of binging i just wanted to die. Im sorry but i blame my parents.

Hey 19F here. Im very athletic, my lowest weight was 58kg at 24-25% body fat (that pretty low for women). I lots of sport but consistently i do boxing and running. I also been strength training since i was in middle school so workouts has always been my hobby. I dont have problem with discipline.

I grew up in a very unhealthy household, my oarents dont care what they eat. They stocks snacks and sugary foods weekly. The last 3 months i gained 5kgs despite working hours of hours in the gym daily.

My parents always feed me and force me to eat once i got home. I usually live alone for college but because of the summer i just live with my parents on this holiday, college starts again in 3 weeks ish.

Ever since summer holiday start and me living with them again its always binge and restrict cycle, im really really tired of running half marathon to just burn on the calories the force me to eat. I mean sometimes they dont “force” me but they always make sure the food is plentiful so i can eat them. I understand so much that they care about me and i care about them too, i love them more than anything in the world, more than i love myself. But im just tired. Tired of blaming myself, tired of the excessive workouts, the water fasting after the binge. I just wished they actually see that im struggling.

Gaining 5kg because of holiday isnt fun. I dont even think its an ED. I love foods but foods can sometiems ruin my life. I came to the point where i thoughy dying will actually be better than doing all the excessive workouts.

Anyways, im going back to dorm early (in 3 days im going back) so i will be out of this hella household. But im just worried how to get back on track again, 5kg is a lot of work.

Please show some love guys. I just need to vent. Thank you.
