Help me guys!!

I’m deciding between Shoolini University, IILM University, and Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences for M.Tech Bioinformatics and would really appreciate honest opinions from students/alumni/researchers.

My background:

B.Tech Bioinformatics graduate

Interested in computational biology, genomics, AI/ML in bioinformatics, and research

Have worked on projects related to AMR prediction, k-mer based ML models, methylation analysis, etc.

Might pursue research/PhD later, but also want decent industry exposure

What I’ve observed so far:

Shoolini

Seems to have stronger biotech/research environment

Good focus on publications and research culture

But I’m unsure about placements/ROI

IILM Noida

Syllabus looks more modern (ML, NGS analytics, Biopython, computational biology, AI integration)

NCR location may help with networking/internships

But I don’t know how strong the actual bioinformatics ecosystem/faculty is

SHUATS

Affordable

Traditional bioinformatics syllabus with phylogenetics, sequence analysis, algorithms, etc.

But curriculum seems older and less AI/ML focused

My priorities are:

  1. Research opportunities

  2. Faculty/lab quality

  3. Bioinformatics-specific exposure

  4. Computational biology + AI/ML scope

  5. Internships/placements

  6. Overall ROI

Would love honest feedback on:

actual teaching quality

research culture

placements/internships

peer group

hidden pros/cons

whether higher fees are worth it or not

Especially looking for responses from current students, alumni, or people working in biotech/bioinformatics.
