Which is a better college for bioinformatics as a pcb students amity or iilm ?

I am a pcb student looking for college but I am confused between doing btech biotechnology or informatics .

I got 78.2% in 12 th and is a neet dropper

I am considering iilm noida due to its fees but some people were saying that they does not have placements

Amity on other hand is costly for same course.

Also i was considering btech biotechnology from thappar but again it's fees is so high and placement vary btw 6 lpa .

I would appreciate if someone can give their insights on whether to do btech biotechnology or informatics and from which college pleaseeeeee.

Am i gonna regret having bioinformatics as my bachelors?

So many people around me are into btech biotech and i am already uncertain about whether biotech even has that much job opportunities in india, so I am thinking of btech bioinformatics, but because its already a specialisation and people go for it in masters, is it gonna affect the amount of entry level job opportunities i get??
Although i have no prior experience or interest in coding and computer science, I am thinking about bioinformatics. But seeing so many people pivot from other degrees to bioinformatics in masters i am soo confused.
Also i am a pcb student and have not studied math in 11th and 12th.

biotechnology

biotech mein india mein scope hai kya? what if I do btech in biotech and want to stay in india?

abroad bhi gyi toh are there any exams and all.

india mein mba krte hai after biotech which is quite scary for me kyuki 12th 10th marks matter krte hai for good mba clgs.

if unfortunately I don't get into good mba clgs what will I do?

also bds acha hai ki btech in biotech??

In need of Interview skills guidance

I completed my Masters in Bioinformatics in May 2025. And for the past 1 year I have applied to many jobs. But despite having an amazing resume( few recruiters said so). I keep doing bad at interviews. I do prepare a lot before it but somehow always end up forgetting one or two things. My self confidence is at the bottom and that is making it worse. Any suggestions on how to prepare or what i can do to ace the interview.

Also my previous experience has been in oncology but i want to switch to metagenomics. And for some reason my answer does not seem enough.

Computational bio but no maths..is it worth it??

I'm a Class 12 student from India (PCB, no Maths), and lately I've been seriously considering a career in computational biology/bioinformatics because I love biology and I'm interested in AI.

The problem is that I'm not naturally good at maths, and I don't have Maths as a subject in school right now.

Would this be a bad career choice for someone like me? Is the maths manageable if I'm willing to work hard, or should I consider a different path?

I'd really appreciate honest opinions, especially from people working or studying in this field.

Is it too late to get into bioinformatics

I'm doing an MSc in Zoology, not Bioinformatics, but I've gotten really interested in bioinformatics/computational biology and would love to build a career in it.

Is it actually possible with my background? If yes, what's the most practical way to get started? What should I learn first, and what projects or experience would help?

What kind of projects, internships, or certifications would actually help?

Please give advice 🥹👉🏻👈🏻

Can you please help me? for carrier guidence?

Hi everyone,

I'm from Madhya Pradesh and recently passed Class 12 (State Board) with 70% in PCB.

I've decided that I don't want to prepare for NEET or take a drop year, so I'm trying to figure out what career path would be the best for me.

The courses I'm currently considering are:

  • B.Sc.
  • Cs
  • Biotechnology
  • Bioinformatics

( if u guys know more better courses pls tell )

I'm mainly looking for a career that has:

  • Good earning potential
  • Long-term stability (5-10+ years)
  • Decent job opportunities in India or abroad

One thing I'm worried about is that I actually enjoy computers and technology more than biology. I sometimes wish I had chosen PCM, but since I took PCB, my math is quite weak now. Because of that, I'm not sure if BCA/CS is still a realistic option or if I should stick to biology-related fields.

I'd really appreciate advice on:

  • Which of these courses has the best future?
  • What colleges should I look for (I'm okay with studying outside MP)?
  • If there are any other good career options for a PCB student besides NEET.

Thanks in advance!

What's better to pursue BTech in Biotechnology or BTech in Bioinformatics as a student with PCB background and no coding knowledge to land a decent job and future plans to explore international careers ?

My qualifications - 90% in 12th CBSE & 94% in 10th ICSE

I appeared for RENEET this year as a first dropper and I'm not entirely sure about how it went and what to expect, so now I want to keep my options open & I've been thinking about exploring alternative career options and recently came across BTech in Biotechnology & BTech in Bioinformatics as promising career prospects and courses that can eventually help me to land a decent job with international career opportunities and eventually settle abroad in future as my end goal and excel in my career with the proper guidance, skills and knowledge about this industry and curriculum as a whole.

While looking for colleges and unis to apply to, my parents & I came across Sastra, IILM & Amity Noida etc as some of the decent institutes for pursuing the undergrad courses in India so I was wondering if you all could guide me about which would be the best college in India to choose for undergrad for any of these 2 courses and share more about your experiences as the respective alumni, seniors and students there, about the colleges, faculty support, research facilities and the courses in general and also about future placement prospects, job scopes and opportunities post graduation and share tips and important guides for a newbie that is transitioning to this new career path coming from a completely different environment and mindset (without any coding and maths background in 11th & 12th) whilst preparing for a competitive exam like NEET & what to expect from this degree, course and career in general.

Looking forward to responses, directions and guidance from current students, seniors, graduates, researchers and industry professionals, thanks for your cooperation in taking time to read and helping me out regarding which will be the best course and curriculum to go through with my future career plans to settle abroad and land a good enough job.

Bioinformatics guidance 🆘

Hello everyone,
I’m a PCB student from India and I recently appeared for NEET UG, but unfortunately things didn’t go as planned. Because of that, I’ve been exploring alternative career paths, and Bioinformatics is one field that has really caught my interest.
Before making any decisions, I’d like to hear from people who are actually studying or working in Bioinformatics.
How are the opportunities in Bioinformatics currently, both in India and abroad? Is it a field with strong future growth, or is it still quite niche? What kind of jobs do Bioinformatics graduates usually get, and how difficult is it to find a good job after graduation?
I’d also like to know:
Is Bioinformatics a good choice for a PCB student?
What skills are most important to succeed in this field?
Is a bachelor’s degree enough, or is a master’s/PhD usually required?
What are the salary and career growth prospects?
If you had to start over, would you still choose Bioinformatics?
I’m looking for honest opinions and real experiences, including the challenges and downsides that colleges don’t usually talk about.
Thank you for your help!

Help please!!!

Hey everyone,

I'm a 22M thinking about switching career paths. I spent ~4 yrs preparing for NEET, but eventually realised medicine wasn't really for me.

I have some basic coding background Java in school-3yrs, a bit of Python), but I know I need to learn more and I am ready for that .I have always been into coding, computers, maths and bio and knowing more about stuff.

I would really like suggestions from people already studying or working in this field. Based on my situation, do you think this is a good path to pursue, or should I rethink my plan before committing to it?

Advise as college student

I'm currently gonna step in 3rd year in B.Tech Biotechnology studying in tier 4 college of my state.I recognized wet lab jobs isn't my cup of tea and I always had dry lab careers as my future in career. But thing is to start bioinformatics,im having so much of coding problems that I fumble hard in college coding exams. So I really feel whether coding is fit or not for me even though I wish I could do coding well.

Also I am considering some of fields as my choice which is clinical research/clinical data management, regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance.

Pls advise whether bioinformatics field is worth putting all the effort in return of stable job after UG in India.my end goal currently for now is to get a job after UG even though I have plans to do PG after gaining worl experience. What kind of career should I choose for this

I want you guys to give your honest advise
