Storm Front graphic novel question

Is it meant to just, end here? To not actually finish the main plot? Then just go into “Restoration of Faith”? If so, just seems like a wild choice to not give a complete story. At least the Fool Moon graphic novel summarizes the first half in text then finishes the rest from there.

[All] Reunion Positivity Thread

I thought I saw one for Double Exposure, at some point, but I don't think I've seen a positivity thread for Reunion. This game has its flaws for sure, definitely won't argue that. There are plenty of things that could be improved. But finishing this game, having been around Max and Chloe's age in the first game when I finished it, to being about their age in this one now, it really hit me hard emotionally. It's ended up being one of the most important games to me personally. And I'm sure there's a lot of others who feel similar. So I wanted to make a place to through some love for it out there.

Some of what I loved:

  • Seeing how Max and Chloe have matured as adults and grown as characters
  • In the Bae ending, I honestly liked that Max and Chloe had a messy break up, but come back together again in Reunion. They went through a lot of trauma and never dealt with it, and sometimes it takes being apart and growing before it's right to be with each other again
  • If there's one thing Life is Strange always gets right, it's vibes. The scenery and music set it so well. I have multiple songs I play on repeat now
  • Chloe being the one to save Safi. I loved seeing the parallels between them, how much Safi felt like a Chloe that never moved past her trauma, and seeing Chloe reach out to someone in a way that only she could at the time
  • I really liked the sense of urgency set up in some scenes, like trying to stop the demolition and save people from the fire. Even know I could rewind, things felt tense and it added to the immersion for me
  • Seeing Max get to be a professor was great. There was something so satisfying about seeing her mentor her students and love doing it. I absolutely adore that path for her

What did y'all enjoy about this game?

If you could change a character arc in CCoD, what would it be?

One of the things I felt was lacking this season was character depth and growth. It often fell a more into simple bit territory than is my preference, even though I had a good time with most of them. To anyone that may feel the same, what character's story would you want to change the most?

For me, I think it would be Darkness Man. I would love to see him actually have to grapple with how his hero persona and the realities of being a vampire, like frenzying and killing random people or the realities of being in a group of people that don't have the same ideals and can do a lot of damage.

Not a tonal fit for the season now, but it's part of what I wish could have been explored.

My one hope before V6

People have talked about how V5 has gone on for longer than any other edition, and it amazes me we’ve only gotten one fully fleshed out By Night book. Boston By Night is barely a fraction of what Chicago By Night has inside. And the Chicago Folios only feeds into it.

I am curious why it seems they’ve had less emphasis on setting books.

I really appreciate Madelaine as a sort of "voice of reason" for the group

At least in terms of when it comes to the threat the Camarilla poses. While I personally enjoy Vampire for the more serious tones of the setting, I've really been enjoying this season and its characters. That said, I've felt most of them take the Camarilla threat a bit too lightly. Consequences have been a bit light this season considering how reckless the group can be, and it's nice to see at least one PC still saying "hey, we're not invincible".

A large part of this critique is that all the Intrepid Heroes are so good at finding clever ways to solve problems and that's one of the best parts of seeing them play together for me. Giving them restrictions and seeing them figure out how to work within them is always so interesting to see with how far they think outside the box. And part of me is really hoping Brennan leans into Madelaine's warning to show that while they're kicking ass in Purpee, they still have to maneuver around forces much older and stronger than them.
