I've been wanting to run a steampunk campaign similar to Cloudward, Ho! and I'm looking for a system to run it in. I know they used modified 5e for the actual series, but I was wondering if there was a system that would work better for the airships, firearms, exploration, etc. that we got in CloHo. Any suggestions are helpful!
For those who don't know, CR4 is taking about 5 weeks off to do a mini series. The key thing is that Brennan is not part of that mini series, which got me thinking, maybe the 5 weeks off is for Brennan to record their next series at D20.
I'm not sure if there's been a schedule indicated when the cast goes into recording for a show, but it's always been hard to follow because the only clues we would often get is when they reveal like, a holiday that's coming up during their time of recording. So the fact that CR4 is taking a break gives me the idea that their about to record their next D20 show.
If so, what do you think it might be? I'm going to guess since we just got a main cast show, the recording would be a side quest.
A while ago, I fell asleep watching USC chapter 2. I remember having a dream that was, at the time, so vivid I assumed I had woken up slightly and caught a scene before going back to sleep. Next part is spoilered in case it's actually in the campaign. I remember Brennan describing >!a phone hooked up to something at gladiator, and a plan by them to further isolate people to the point where they couldn't speak to anyone. The specific quotes I remember are "you see plans for increased homelessness", and immediately after, "it seems like soon, open desperation will be ignored". All of this SEEMS very gladiator, but I've finished the season and didn't hear it anywhere.!< Did my brain accidentally invent a new gladiator plotline, or did I just miss a part of the season?
I honestly love every cast member for their individual strengths. But I needed to post this short little thing to appreciate the Lou & Brennen friendship. The latest episode just highlighted, again, how well these two know each other's performance strengths, and how well they both know how to bring out the best in each other. Fucking LOVED the Lavonte and Maya meeting. Goosebumps multiple times. Lou is a superstar and Brennen is a master director and stage-setter.
So I just want to make it clear that I don't think this is like a bad season or anything but I do feel like the potential of this season was never met. I just feel like almost nothing happened throughout the season? It just kind of felt like random things in an episode. I'm also not impressed with the 14/6 spread of the intrepid heroes seasons. I watch dimension 20 outside of intrepid heroes if I feel like it's something that I'm interested in but I look forward to the intrepid heroes season every year because I know it's going to be like a full experience. But with this split and using the bulk episodes (14) as VTM I'm not sure it worked? It also feels like the six episodes might be kind of throw away because what really can you accomplish in six episodes? As far as we know it's not connected to any previous seasons so it's not going to be a Ravening War situation. Also I do like VTM. While watching CCOD I finished season 1 and 2 of Private Nightmares which is a VTM actual play but in a very dark tone versus the humorous tone of CCOD. I guess I'm just a little underwhelmed and then knowing that we're only going to get six more episodes of The intrepid heroes for the rest of the year until the 2027 season. I understand they wanted to try something different but I do wonder if they could have accomplished the VTM experiment in the 6 episodes and given us 14 episodes of a normal(ish) season? Sorry I know this is long-winded.
I've watched this season maybe a dozen times. And maybe I just miss the obvious every time, but when the SPF admits to having a hand in Jet's death, I'm always like ooh drama, but HOW? I thought it was pretty cut and dry Calroy working with Ciabatta to trick the kids into going to the lingerie shop and getting ambushed. I'm running a version of this campaign for some friends right now and I do want to get the SPF's involvement right.
Just our native cryptid getting some skating in
i feel like every time Maya asks them for some sort of proof that they’re here to help they just give her crumbs. at this point i don’t know if that’s just the roleplaying angle or if the entire group literally doesn’t see how they approach every interaction with her with the intent of manipulating her while giving her as little info about them as possible
so many times she’s asked why they’re here and instead of saying “well we were banished here as punishment and they want us to take over but we decided to fix the town” they just keep saying “we’re here to help” as if just saying the right words should be enough
HJ obviously lying about his wealth instead of just discussing how much money the credit union will need also caught me way off guard. like if that’s the roleplaying angle, okay cool. but why do they seem genuinely confused by Maya still not trusting them 😭😭😭😭 like you know her entire deal, local witch trying to get by. but they keep treating her like a pawn to be captured
anyways i do really love this series but this keeps happening and it’s getting to me…
Just wondering if this is the shortest intrepid heroes season and why?
So I’m a little new to WoD but if Maya is a true Mage she should be incredibly powerful, at least in her sphere. Especially against Vampires who she can’t gain paradox from? Her behavior sits her a little closer to just a mortal who knows some magic but not one of the Awakened. At least I think. Nerds please help
I'm watching the new episode of CCoD while my wife sits next to me playing Tomodachi Life. About halfway through the episode, she points out Murph's Darkness Man voice sounds similar to Blaine's Clayton voice from Good Morning from Hell, and now I can't unhear it.
Was inspired by a great fan artist on Tumblr. What do you think of my interpretation of the Nosferatu pair?
Sadly, the take that I have come across features neither of these talents (nor is it Renner) but the production value is truly something to behold, well beyond what would be expected for an audition tape:
