Combat Episodes Are My Favourite Ones And Are Integral To The Medium.

Idk if anybody can relate to this but occasionally I see people upset about having to watch combat episodes in D20 seasons. And it really annoys me. Because I much prefer the seasons with battle episodes than without. They are a very useful thing for the story to build towards, where pivotal moments in the story are very likely to happen. Also I find the strategy infinitely interesting, e.g. when Emily uses a spell to destroy Brennan, or Ally comes up with an insane, but very in character/lore way to break a battle.

Also there are far more seasons with other systems like kids on bikes, or battle light 5e seasons, like the ones Aabria runs. Which definitely work very well, but don't lend themselves to all types of stories DMs want to tell.

Basically I think D20 has some of the most exciting combat design I've ever seen in 5e, and elaborate combat sets that you're not likely to see anything similar to anywhere else. So yes, they are important to the story, they give variety to the episode structure, and often the first battle is the moment I truly get invested in the story, as it sets up the stakes incredibly effectivly.

Been looking for old Room 101 episodes for ages

I really loved Frank Skinner’s room 101, but I can only ever find full episodes from the last season for the most part. Does anyone know anywhere that I could find the rest?

Do people have headcannons for levels of Aguefort teachers?

When I was first watching Junior year, I just assumed all the teachers were 20th level, but then I noticed Eugenia only did 9d6 sneak attack damage, putting her at level 17-18.

I presume that there would have to be at least one level 17 faculty member for each subject, so that they would have access to 9th level spells and things like that, but does anyone think that there are Aguefort teachers that are higher or lower levels than others?

My headcannon is Jace is 20th level, as he was able to make that simultaneous simulacrum spell, and Porter would have like 20 levels in Barbarian and a few more in paladin maybe.

Anyone Wish Ravening War Was Longer?

Ravening war has 6 episodes and only 2 battles. For one I wish they went back to the old rp then battle structure for this, so that there could be 3 battles, but just generally I feel like it should have been maybe a 10 episode season.

For me Calorum is a setting defined by its brutality and deadliness. Everyone in this season made backup characters, but it almost felt like there wasn’t any need, as there was no danger of them being introduced. If we’d had a 10 episode season season with 5 battles, I feel like it would have fit the tone of Calorum as a world a lot better.

I can’t be the only one who sees this?

This is Lorenzo Music, the original voice of Garfield.

Does he look like George Fouracres or am I insane?

Plumbeline Uvano

Very funny to me that Plumbeline makes 3 combat rolls in total afaik. It is a Nat 1 against Theo in the Joust, and then Crits against Theo in the Cathedral, and then Crits against Theo in the battle for Castle Candy.

Truly the spiciest roller in D20 history.

I’m actually so dumb

I have spent the last week presuming that Kaylin Mahoney was related to Kurt Maloney, because I forgot his last name.

Constitution Saves and Biblical Throwing

I was just rewatching the Calroy betrayal in ACoC, and was imagining a parallel universe where Amethar succeeded all his con saves. Does he then just throw Calroy into the sun after that, because he isn’t paralysed? Or is the paralysis a different effect, because I’m not sure if we ever see watersteel have that effect again? Because we know from the previous two battles that Amethar has the mightiest throws in Calorum.

Why’s it called the Ramsian Doctrine?

It’s about purging junk food from the world. It should clearly be named after Jamie Oliver.
