I've recently seen posts detailing the insane acceptance rates of these summer programs. Saw that Iowa sstp was 4%, mites summer 1%, mites semester <5%, just saw bu rise internship 2.2%. Were these programs not higher acceptance rates? Ik acceptance rate will decrease across years but I feel like this is a pretty big jump.

Asking for both summer and semester. Assume ECs and awards are average.
