PSA: The Honda Prologue has an undocumented “Camp Mode” workaround! 🏕️⚡
I recently discovered something that I don’t think many Prologue owners know about.
While the Prologue doesn’t have a dedicated Camp Mode like Tesla, it does have a way to disable the automatic vehicle shutdown, making it much more practical for camping or spending long periods inside the vehicle.
How to enable it
Sit in the vehicle with the key.
Leave the vehicle completely OFF.
Press and hold the brake pedal.
While holding the brake, press and hold the START/STOP button for about 5 seconds.
A message should appear indicating that Auto Shutoff is Disabled.
Start the vehicle normally.
(This has to be repeated each time you want to use it.)
Why it’s useful
With Auto Shutoff disabled, you can:
✅ Keep the A/C running all night in summer.
✅ Keep the heater running during cold nights.
✅ Charge your phone and other USB devices.
✅ Use the infotainment system.
✅ Sleep comfortably inside the vehicle without it shutting off after a couple of hours.
Since the HVAC system only cycles on when needed, battery consumption is surprisingly low. Many owners report only a few percent of battery used over an entire night in mild weather.
It’s not a full Tesla Camp Mode (no Dog Mode or dedicated camping screen), but it’s the closest thing the Prologue currently offers—and it’s great for road trips, camping, waiting at charging stations, or even taking a nap.
Has anyone else tried this? How much battery did you use overnight?
