Rear Wheels Locked

Rear Wheels Locked

Hello, for context, I am driving into a parking lot to drop a friend off. I shift the car into the park, and all of a sudden, there is a warning light on the dash (a circle around a P and a wrench underneath).

I shift back into drive and realize the wheels are completely locked. When I press the accelerator, only the front wheels spin (FWD).

I have tried different methods such as holding down the electronic brake button, the brake, and the soft restart, and I don't know what to do.

The car is currently sitting in the parking lot, and Tow is trying to charge me over $200 to get to the dealership, which is closed right now.

Any advice will help. Thank you.

Terrible Experience.

This should serve as a fore-warning to anybody considering purchasing or leasing this car. I have a 2024 Touring FWD that I leased in December of 2024. I had read the warnings from this sub reddit and leased it anyway, as I know that bad experiences are shared more than good ones, and I and have had good luck with vehicles in the past. I was happy until around the 5,000mi mark, thinking I had avoided all the common issues reported here.

Wrong. This past winter, BOTH CV axles started clicking. Since then these are the issues I've had personally.

Clicking axles, left and right. Left replaced by dealer only to click again.

Bad rear weather seals around rear doors allowing water intrusion. Dealer replaced.

A/C cutting out randomly until adjusted unless set to "Lo". Was told by dealer this was normal, and that the battery was calling for increased cooling. Also complained of

Blower wheel bearings being heard in excessive heat waves. Dealer could not find issue.

Turn signal activating other direction on return spring. Was told this was normal and to hold stalk when turning.

Rearview camera seldomly doesnt show. There's an open recall for this but of course it will display ever time for the dealer.

Charge door open indicator permanently on: Car thinks the car door is always open. Dealer drilled out sensor to find water in assembly and now the car is inoperable until (backordered) parts come in.

I'm currently driving a dealer loaner: Its also a prolouge, and also has clicking axles. It's not a matter of if... its a matter of when. Hopefully my charge door assembly takes too long to come in and I can file lemon law. All these issues, combined with the lack of quality and features I had come to expect from a honda, especially at the prologue's price point, has me very disappointed in the brand. I can not wait to off load this piece of junk... my 2013 Ford is more reliable.

(Yes I know its a GM product, but QA should have never let this car touch a Honda dealers lot)

Honda Care for 100k miles

I’ll start with the fact that I do like my car, and would like some advice on whether I need to protect it with Honda care. My lease is a 99k mile lease and I am right on track with the miles, currently 22k. I’ve already been to the dealer twice for the axles, twice for the charge port door and once for a high voltage issue in the past 8 months. The charge port door is $900+ to replace if it happens again, but the 100k warranty from Saccucci Honda is only $1185.

I’m wondering if I should get the warranty or just be completely unprotected from 60k-99k miles.

Lease deal opinion

Interested in your thoughts on this potential lease deal:

2k down 199/mo 36/12k on AWD Touring

Do you think I can do better or take it and run? Getting sick of going back and forth playing dealers off each other trying to make a deal happen lol.

Prologue recall

Took my 24 prologue in today @9a due to receiving a letter for the recall and wanted to see how long everyone else’s took. I haven’t had any problems with the blank display screens or anything like that so I would hope the recall skipped pass mines but currently waiting for an update.

Battery Failure

Leasing a 2025 elite since last August. On my drive home from the dealership I got the charge door open notification. We pulled over to check and of course it was closed. After that the notification would come and go, sometimes accompanied by “service high voltage system”. I ran a diagnostic check with On Star and it told me to take it into the dealership; they replaced the door and I was golden for 6 months. Last week the car wouldn’t charge at home (level one) so I took it to the dealership. The battery has failed and is being replaced this week. Luckily I have a loaner to use while it’s in the shop. Since I’m using level one at home, occasionally I take it to charge at a Target nearby that has Electrify America chargers. I’d done this a few times but after the most recent charge I noticed a lot of heat coming off the car, no burning smell, but the hood was warm to the touch which had never happened before. A week later this happened. Could the public charger have caused this or was my battery destined to fail? Also, what if the new battery fails as well? Is the warranty a one and done kind of thing? Will they replace it again? My service technician told me the cost for the battery is over $10,000 (thankfully covered this time). I hadn’t installed a level 2 charger on my garage since the level one usually got me the charge I needed for my every day activities, but some trips to a distant airport necessitated the public charging. Is this my sign to install the charger? Thanks for your input.

2024 Honda Prologue (Base model). Should I get it serviced?

One year and a half in having this car. Got a little less than 18k miles on it. Ive gotten the occasional “battery issue” notification but that’s rare. I say about 2-3 times since I got the car. Obviously I don’t need an oil change but should I get this car serviced? If I do go in, wtf do I even say? I guess I can say change my air filters but I did that myself already. Other than that I really don’t know if I should go in for any reason. I just want to know if any other Honda EV owner has taken their car in just to make sure it’s good. I’ve had no reason to but is there some type of service I’m supposed to get or am I good till the end of my lease?

So I had Gemini analyze my recent trip

I wonder if these numbers are more or less than what I would have paid in my old hybrid. I still feel like I'm probably paying a little less with my Prologue but i easily could have made this trip on one tank for sure and my 24 Honda Accord Hybrid.

thinking of buying a used Prologue, looking for advice

hello all. I'm looking at used Prologues. I decided on Prologue because

  • the interior and exterior works for me
  • I need Carplay/Android Auto which rules out the GM products. I use my phone for streaming audio, navigation etc so I don't care about how good these features are as they're built in to the car
  • I don't care about self-driving very much. I have a Tesla, and don't want another one

I want the vented seats and 360 parking camera which locks me in to an Elite.

I've bought my last few cars new, but that seems like a bad idea with the Prologue even given the incentives that are flying around, since they're so much cheaper even lightly used.

I am looking at a used 2024 Prologue Elite, Honda certified pre-owned with under 5000 miles on it. Seems in almost new condition, seller wants $30750 for it. I figure the extended warranty helps provide coverage for anything obnoxious happening in next few years and I plan to get the full eight years of the battery warranty out of the car.

Would love any thoughts or advice you all have. Thank you!

I want to keep this car for 20+ years...

I want to preface by saying that I understand that my desire is very unheard of in this day and age of planned obsolescence. Manufacturers will typically rather you buy a new car rather than keep your own for 10 years. But I really love this car, flaws and all. It's just a really nice car IMHO.

I may be overhyping it, but it has such a casual simplicity, yet a style of elegance that I have not seen with other cars. Maybe it's because it's my first EV. Maybe it's because I long for the days that I did not live, where I envision the people in their garage workshops tuning the engines in owned cars. Maybe I am crazy to think that a life of not having car payment is impossible anymore. I know that because of the issues this car has had, many people feel that it's just a pig with makeup, ready to go to the mud at a moments notice. But I am really tired of being in a day and age where stuff cannot be fixed or worked on, and the only fix is having to rely on manufacturers who's only goal is to profit off the backs of the helpless consumer in a cycle of leases and financing payments.

I am a believer in being the change you want to see in the world, and I am also a believer that if you get enough smart, motivated, hard-working and collaborative people together, amazing things can be done. I want to keep the Honda Prologue for 20 years and if anyone else does too, I am talking to you. I was inspired by the story of Fisker owner collaborating together to implement a soft of open-source GitHub to keep that lemon of a car https://fiskeroa.com/help-desk/fisker-ocean-buying-guide/

The prologue is no where near the issues of that car has. The manufacturer still exists, there a parts that can be reverse engineered or sourced from other cars, there is a company that, given enough public backing, is will to change the reputation of being late to the game and correct their wrongs. I believe in the prologue. I am not giving up on this car.

Anyone else extremely disappointed in Honda? (rant)

Not only have they cancelled our chances of migrating to a True Acura or Honda when our leases end, but they’re also neglecting their bread and butter models like the Accord, Odyssey by extending their life cycles till 2030 and cancelling the RDX till the replacement comes!

I was hoping to get the RSX when my lease ends.

The next 5 years are going to be extremely tough for them to survive.

Tire Wear

Ive recently noticed my front tires are considerably more worn than rear. I’m assuming it may have something to do with weight distribution (e.g., battery in front). Anyone know if this is normal? My wife mainly drives as her daily and she doesn’t drive hard and vehicle has 22k miles.

First photo is state of front tires on both sides and second photo are rear tires.

Recall update rejected

Just got back from the dealer - brought my car there to patch a tire, do the recall update, and repair the door handle that falls loose when you try and open the door. The mechanic told me to skip the recall and Honda is expected to release an update to the recall soon since so many people are experiencing black screens after the recall.

Sunroof Problem

So we have 2025 Touring and recently if you close the sunroof it closes all the way and then immediately reopens. It will do this multiple times and then finally it may close. I have to make an appointment to get that fixed but does anyone know or have the same problem.

Prologue Elite self-sealing tires, repair

I learned some things about my 2025 Prologue Elite this week and thought I would share…

  1. Had a tire puncture, and found that it was being identified as the wrong tire in the console. My wife called the dealer and said this was a known issue. Caused a lot of confusion finding the puncture initially when the trouble tire was not visibly different from the others.

  2. Elite tires are self-sealing and not just anyone will repair them. Costco said no. The dealer also said no over the phone and suggested I’d need to replace at least 2 at nearly $500/ea. No thanks.

  3. However, Discount repaired it with no complaints, though it did take a while. (They have to scrape the self-sealing goo away from the puncture area before patching.)

Hope this helps anyone else in a similar situation in the future.

Alert 'Unable to Charge - Try a different cord'

Something new. About a week ago I got this alert when plugging in my car at home. Unplugged, plugged in, unplugged, plugged in again and I was able to start charging.
I got the same alert yesterday after a road trip. Fortunately no issue connecting to the one remote charger used on the trip.

Do the charger plugs or car port need to cleaned? Should I carry Q-tips with the car? Compressed air?

Anyone else had this issue. Had the car for over a year, just passed 10,000 miles.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Worst car made

I have a 25 prologue elite and it’s been nothing but problems I should have known it’s a Chevy. First ac lines broke took almost 3 weeks to get parts. I had to call Honda corporate to get them to move faster.then screen started glitching wouldn’t let me turn volume button. And now they had to change front axel was making clinking noise when I made a right turn. Now the screen goes dark when I put in reverse!smh once I can I’m getting rid of this trash 🗑️
