Welp, we got the letter for the HVAC issue (25 Elite). Wife made the appointment and dropped it off this afternoon.
Since she hadn't heard back from them, she gave them a call.
They hit an issue and the car "forgot its identity" is how they put it. sigh
Should I start a bet on Kalshi for how long it'll take them to unbrick it?
Kicker is they claimed to not have any loaners, so we'll have to put the pressure on them Monday to get one.
Last night (EDT) I posted about the "hiccup" with the trip I'm currently on the last leg for.
I'd given up on bothering calling Delta for the 4th time but at the encouragement of a redditor, I did call.
The representative I randomly got was an angel. He was able to get the itinerary reticketed with all DL flight numbers, needless stress over the checked bag allowance were *poof* gone! And here's where, IMO, he clearly went above and beyond - he noted our selected seats and put us back in them after the ticket was updated. (I had fully expected to have to go in and do that once he had everything finalized.)
Of course I made sure to confirm his name once everything was done and it was time to say goodbye to this lovely fellow. And once I got our party of 5 checked backed in I immediately went to full out the compliment form.
So now we're ready to start our vacation journey today. Leg 1 - smooth sailing and nothing extraordinary and that's absolutely a-OK!
Leg 2 starts off just fine. We see the confirmation that all 8 (some of the 5 in my party don't understand how to pack well 😂) bags are on the plane, things are looking smooth and easy.
We're in main and I intentionally went ahead and put all 5 of us on the same reservation - knowing we would not be upgrade eligible and that was fine. For those of us that wanted an adult beverage on this 4 hour leg, I have drink vouchers to spare.
Low and behold 4 of us get adult beverages of our choosing, the FA knew I was the one with the vouchers and I've got them ready to go. I was the last to be served and... Instead of scanning the vouchers he just starts serving the row behind us. Thanks to this sub I know that happens sometimes. I'm grateful! Also I happened to be sitting next to a nonrev FA and asked if she knew his name. She did and I made a note.
Since this is a 4 hour flight and 2 of us want another adult beverage, when they come back through, after he hands me my choice, he asks "you're the one with vouchers?". I say yep and already have the first one up ready for him to scan. He says "you're good" and moves on. I'm in happy shock!
After we land at the end of this leg he's at the door as we're exiting and I made sure to thank him again and repeat his name so he knows that I know (and hopefully he knows there'll be a compliment form being submitted for him).
Then we get yet another surprise. KNOWING that we're not upgrade eligible with our party size we get the notifications of seat changes and we've all been upgraded to C+ for the final leg. This was completely flabbergasting given how many posts I've seen here where people walk by empty first or C+ seats. For this I get to the gate before boarding starts because I wanted a chat with the GA. To profusely thank her. I know she had no obligation to give us the upgrades, but she did and gave us seats as together as our group of 5 could have.
I'm not nearly as much as a flyer as many/most in this sub, but I've certainty had many, many Delta (and others) horror stories. And I've had plenty of normal / non-eventful flights.
But to have this cascading series of wonderful experiences today to start a meaningful family vacation, I just had to share.
And rest assured, compliment forms will be submitted for the FA and GA tomorrow. I genuinely regret that I didn't have the paper compliment form for the FA.
