Loved (Re)Link? You'll love wattata (beta testers wanted)

Hi everyone,

I'm Thierry, the developer of (Re)Link. Today I'm opening the beta of a new app, wattata.

Everything (Re)Link shows comes from Honda's servers. That means OnStar, a Honda account, and only the snapshots Honda chooses to share: no trip history, no per-trip efficiency, no charging curves. So I stopped asking Honda's cloud and went to the source, the car itself.

wattata has a companion app in the car, from the Google Play Store. It reads the vehicle data as you drive and charge, and sends it to your iPhone in real time over Bluetooth. There's no account, no OnStar required, and everything is computed on the device.

wattata does not replace (Re)Link. (Re)Link gives you remote status and commands from anywhere. wattata gives you the detail of every trip and charge when you're near the car. Many people will want both.

The beta: I'm looking for Prologue owners with an iPhone, ideally a mix of Android 12 and 14, FWD and AWD. If that's you, DM me with your trim and Android version.

More at https://wattata.app

Thanks ⚡
Thierry, from Québec

Edit: I received more messages than one person can handle. Sorry if I cannot reply to every one. I have sufficient testers for now.

Find your stolen Honda

Hi, I'm Thierry, the creator of ReLink, an independent alternative to HondaLink for the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX.

Last month I helped someone locate their stolen Civic Touring (they'll know who they are), and they got it back.

That gave me the idea to add a free feature to ReLink: sign in with your own HondaLink account to see your car's last known location on a map, get directions, and share the spot.

It works for any Honda on your account, not just EVs.

Honest heads-up: it's the last reported position, not live tracking, and for a theft the right move is still the police. It only works with your own account, for your own vehicle.

ReLink 1.41: your Prologue can now brag about itself

Hey everyone, Version 1.41 just shipped and this one's mostly about bragging rights:

Trophy cards. Your fleet rank (range or efficiency) as a shareable card, three designs to pick from. Finished 5th out of 78 Prologues? There's now a card for that. Flex responsibly.

Fairer rankings. Comparisons now match your drivetrain: AWD against AWD, FWD against FWD. To every AWD owner who sat at the bottom of the range chart: you were never losing, you were just carrying a second motor.

Smarter charge detection. If the battery level goes up while the car is parked, that was a charge. Groundbreaking detective work, I know, but the vehicle genuinely never reports some of them, and now your efficiency stats stop being punished for it.

In-app support. Send a request right from the app, logs attach themselves. No more "can you describe the problem" back-and-forth where the answer was in a log file all along.

One more thing: two home-screen widgets, range rank and efficiency rank. Because a trophy you have to open an app to see is barely a trophy.
Privacy, since someone will (rightly) ask: rankings are opt-in, the server never sees your VIN or location, only anonymous aggregates, and nothing is served until at least 10 vehicles participate. Full details in the app.

Happy charging!

ReLink pricing is going up. Existing users keep their price

Hey everyone, Thierry here, the dev behind ReLink (the native iPhone/Apple Watch app for the Prologue and ZDX).

When ReLink launched it was basically a battery gauge with climate control. Since then it’s grown into a lot more:

Widgets, a full Apple Watch app with complications, Siri shortcuts, tire pressures, charge target control…

A new Insights section rolling out now: battery & range history, seasonal trends, charging costs, and an opt-in fleet comparison so you can see how your car stacks up against other Prologues and ZDXs

A shareable battery health report (handy for resale) is coming soon

Part of this, the fleet comparison and the relay that keeps your widgets fresh now runs on actual servers that cost money every month, not just my evenings and weekends. The old price doesn’t cover where the app is headed, so I’d rather raise it honestly than bolt on ads or sell data. One-time lifetime stays the model I want: pay once, own it.

What doesn’t change:

Existing lifetime purchases: yours forever, obviously

Existing monthly subscribers keep their $0.99 price

The 7-day free trial, so you can try everything before paying

The new pricing is effective as of today.

Happy to answer any questions and thanks to everyone who’s supported the app, reported bugs, and sent ideas. It’s genuinely shaped what ReLink has become.

ReLink now measures your real range from the odometer

The car's range estimate is a promise. Your odometer is the truth. The new Insights update puts them side by side:

Real range, measured: between two charges, ReLink divides the distance you actually drove by the battery percent you used. No projection involved.

Winter loss, finally quantified: one line tells you "you lose about X% (Y km) of range in winter, by the odometer".

Monthly breakdown: each month shows the car's estimate and the measured range, with the % drop vs your best month.

Battery health stays honest: the health comparison only uses controlled-condition data (10-25 °C), because heating at full blast in January is not battery wear.

Everything is computed on device from your own history. As always, nothing leaves your phone unless you opt into the fleet comparison, which only shares an anonymized summary.

loud wind noise

I have a loud wind noise on the driver’s side while driving. Honda replaced the door seals, but it didn’t fix the problem. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

Are you getting “damaged product” photos that look fake?

I’ve been talking with a few people who sell online and one thing keeps coming up: customers requesting refunds with a photo of a product supposedly damaged on arrival, except the photo looks edited or straight-up AI-generated.

With today’s AI tools, anyone can produce a believable image of a crushed package or a cracked screen in seconds. And by eye, it’s become nearly impossible to tell apart from the real thing.

For those of you handling customer support:

Does this happen to you? How often?
How are you dealing with it right now?
Do you refund anyway because disputing costs more than the product itself?
Roughly how much does it add up to over a year?

Thanks for your input.

Anyone else getting more and more fake “damaged on arrival” photos?

We’ve been seeing a growing number of refund requests where the customer sends a photo of the product supposedly damaged in transit, but the photo looks faked or edited.

Trying to figure out if this is widespread or if we’re just unlucky. Would love to hear how others deal with it.
