Battlefield 4 and 3 - Linux Fix (Arch Linux) STEAM Only + Browser Server...
My fix for Arch Linux

My fix for Arch Linux
They have barely any memory of where you went
I have went to Tiger Bay, got engaged by AI, he saw me go into the doorway, and he also saw me go right, he goes through same doorway and peels 90 degrees into opposite direction of where I went
That in itself is my biggest gripe with AI, they don't even store memory of what they see
It's like if you are a certain amount of meters away from them, they simply forget where you were, in my case it wasn't more than 10
It's been like this since past update as well, I simply don't see them following you visually reliably. They are on point with shooting, but then they completely forget where you went.
Can MFG please work on their memory bank behaviors, because this is the only game I have ever played where AI simply ignores what it sees within 3 seconds of seeing you
I was bandaging in desperation just to see him turn away from me and I walked flat to his back and he didn't even turn to me as I walked out in the opposite room where he came from.
I should have been dead
It could be a placebo so far, but I lost some helmets, so I decided to go without one
Not once did I get a headshot so far, in fact, my first death was into a heart, which I don't even remember when it happened before
A single shot to the heart passing through III+ Armor
I am getting mostly shot at the vest now
I am speculating that wearing the helmet brings more possible headshot lock ons
I cannot confirm this, but I have also been sprinting full speed, with zero headshots, just body shots
When I wear a helmet a burst sprint is like 50% headshot chance
My possible explanation is that when you wear armor, they go for it, and if you have a helmet on, they also lock on, but in a very direct way many times landing in your face, rather than on the sides of the helmet. Yes, side helmet shots happen, but face shots are common
Was looking around wondering if people actually used the guns in the game in those areas of the world, and I was very surprised to see this old 7 year old video showing these same guns
What would be nice to see UMP9 and UMP45 and UMP40
The fact that they have it there is surprising and cool
I really like the mounting of shotgun light by the way, instead of mounting on the side
40 caliber should be in the game along with 40 pistols and other rifle like platforms
We don't have AR9s or AR40, seeing something like AR in 0.45 Bushmaster would be dope, but adding huge recoil
I really want to see a lot of small and compact SMGs and rifles, the stuff that can have much greater recoil or worse accuracy, but be compact
Having something like .375 H&H up to .700 Nitro Express, which are huge caliber rifle rounds with huge amount of recoil
I would love to have more handguards that are much more obscure too on M4s but also short ones that are 6.5 inch for 7 inch barrels
As title says I don't even see a reason to level him up
You get only half for things you normally would from other vendors
His safe is only good at starting points when you are planning of saving valuables for some task
But, how many valuables are task items, not that many
On top of it, you are constantly searching for his location across the vast map
Why not give a safe option as rank 1, even if safe is expensive, but actually make some weapons that are improvised as his inventory.
Oh, I don't know, something wacky and fun, like AK74U with an acog
Or M4 with half of barrel chopped off to 7 inch and handguard large enough to fit suppressor underneath it, and not in front
Improvised explosives such as trip mines and booby traps
But, right now...I don't see a thing that I want from him
It would be cool if he was also on rotation for some high value items
Today he wants a radar at higher price than others, tomorrow it's the rare antigen at way higher price
Items that are actually rare selling for higher than other vendors
That would actually make it worth it to travel there
Also, it runs lower than some armor
After going there for about 2 weeks now, and I only find it now
Last couple of times I went, I saw a guy sitting in Tiger Bay Armory, it was closed by the way, electricity was also cut off. I open it up, and see him on his phone in resting pose waiting for respawns. The whole Tiger Bay mall is looted, every cash drawer, everything you can think of, I think I found 2 cameras and 2 watches, and I doubt it was something he missed, he probably left it.
Suddenly respawn happens as I walk into that door, I calmly proceed to the crates to see what's in them, nothing of value, and I slowly walk away as he was already rushing past me.
I calmly walk out, and hear "HEY! Thanks for the Laser Designator!" then followed by more arrogant bs
You know it's not really about laser designator for me, it's just horrible people like that exist, they would be willing to sit for 30 minutes plus locked inside of that room in hopes someone will miss that opportunity by also locking the doors prior. Then to rub that in while I was simply casually seeing what was available considering he is the same person that looted everything in said mall.
This "culture" needs to end, and one way to do it is to create some type of cool down for the person who sits on crates in near vicinity, this might actually work
Imagine if that person looted said crates, and decides to hang back, allow the crates to respawn the loot, but only for new people arriving in that radius of the crate. Imagine loot for same player respawn in 60 minutes, for new players the 30 minute
This prevents the same person abusing the system.
But, instead of being stopped they see zero incentive to actually stop doing so. Then they also rub it in other person's face.
It's like "cool, dude, have your designator, but don't act like I somehow fd your life over by coming into the Armory where you purposefully closed the doors and waited for crates for over 30 minutes, while also flying to crates like your life depends on it"
It's kind of disgusting behavior in terms of thirsty players that clearly are high rank with their biggest backpack in the game waiting for more stuff to steal right under your nose.
It's not intelligent, it's not grindy, it's just cheap, and on top to make others feel bad while the whole room was looted in the first place.
By him...
I already passed the mission for collection of samples, do I need these things, or can I destroy them now?
Before I redownloaded BF3
A lot of spoofing, is this real and if it is actually populated, I am in USA and this is Germany server
We really do, they are lifeless right now, yes, you can imagine the voice as you read it, but I would love to hear the personalities, some intros would be nice similar to Hitman Codename 47 (2000)
Hearing Artisan bitching over the coms would be hilarious
I can imagine Gunny being a tough voice, but of course it is all an imagination until we hear them.
I would love to be able to read some audio entries instead of letters, similar to Bioshock 1, 2 and Bioshock Infinite style
Plus, it's character development, even with Artisan treating you like crap and slowly coming to realization that her perception of Lamang is partly delusion, and essentially I saw some moments when she didn't get angry at you.
I would also love to hear merchants bitch at you when you fail the mission, similar to "Hey, you fd it up again, didn't you, why did I hire you for this"
I will be honest, half the time I am not reading the task stuff, because it has no personality
Check it out, moments like these would be great for task narrative:

Simple text, following a small video data on the situation.
It will add context and visual
To me Hitman Codename 47 is peak video gaming, and it's been about 25+ years since it's release
Diaries served as integral story driving point of Bioshock and it did it so well:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=silfTK13LTg
It will also tell the story of someone, and you can ignore those recordings, but imagine someone stating something very important about the story, or something trivial, such as how MS party was going before Lamang Army showed up
I mean AI factions, you got Lamang rogue element near Tiger Bay completely ignoring Lamang Army and not engaging them
I also saw some patrols ignoring rival AI factions
I am not asking in terms of why of technical terms, as I am sure it is to save resources, but it takes away a lot from the lore element
Can you imagine how much more enjoyable the game would be to see AI factions fighting each other sometimes, and seeing who wins that battle, as it's not always about the guns or ammo, as those flip flop guys can wreck you
I would love to see some random AI fights that are on probability of said patrols, and you can swoop in between them
