Really spooky book wanted

I’m going on a long weekend trip in the woods and in need of something eerie and unsettling, something really scary. Maybe a really good haunted house story, or scary entities.
The last books I read were Off Season by Jack Ketchum, Misery by Stephen King, Kin by Kealan Patrick Burke, We used to live here by Marcus Kliewer. I do like the gory stories but I’m eager for a eerie, dark and creepy book. It’s like the more I read, the harder it gets to find a book that really sticks with me.
For example, a lot of people find Pet Semetary and the exorcist scary, I didn’t.

High quality darkromance books

I’ve noticed that many books are poorly written, as if everyone and their mother has suddenly decided to become a writer. I’ve now experienced this too often where I read a book that has a childish writing style, as if my neighbor’s daughter wrote an essay.
How do you experience this? Who are actually somewhat high-quality writers?

An ex of a family member had a breakdown after the relationship ended, engaged in self-harm, had a short hospital admission, and is now receiving intensive home treatment. The family keeps insisting on having a “closure conversation,” but my fm does not want any contact. They claim that the ex-partner’s care providers want this. Isn’t this just emotional manipulation? How to cope with feeling guilty about having boundaries instead of being mad at them for pushing over those boundaries?
