I am an IT student at a college in Canada, (if important). I chose this course since I thought it was the career I wanted. I have told my parents about dropping out but they said to try it out more since it was the first day, that feeling never went away. I have had more discussions until Christmas. It felt like they are dismissing my feeling and this course only deteriorated my mental health.
When told my parent they still convinced me to continue the course, they did give some therapy but it only lasted a month since I though I got better. I know I am at fault a bit too.
Now the course almost done I am really done with it for months, I know but I am a people pleaser.
I want to drop out and however if I do I might disappoint my parents. What I remember what they said was "I will look good on your resume"
Edit: Forgot to mention, despite studying and being there everyday I forgot most of the material
