YMMV - DPUB820K - Panasonic Canada eStore

Arrived today. Not wanting to pay the rumoured CAD700 in the near future, I decided to buy the UB820 at CAD599.99 via Panasonic Canada eStore. I used their promotional code “SAVE15” and received CAD90 off. The final cost including taxes was CAD580.75.

The box is a little rough, but the actual player is pristine and works well.

Nebula Cosmos 4K SE issues with Software Ver.: V14.0.63

--Update 2--2026.07.10

Anker support told me my unit is now defective. I've used my Nebula Cosmos 4K SE for less than a year, twice a week at most. Because my unit was an Amazon Renewed item it only had a 3 month warranty...so Anker has told me they won't do anything to further assist me...I was offered a coupon to purchase another Anker projector but it's unlikely I will use the offer knowing the quality of their projectors only lasts less than a year of light use.

Originally, I was going to delete my post, but potential buyers should be aware that Anker's warranty only last 3 months for refurbished or Amazon Renewed items. I typically tell people that there's nothing wrong about buying refurbished items, especially if the seller is the brand name itself. But, Anker has me changing my opinion. I take really good care of my electronics so it's very disappointing that after all my caution and care I've taken with my Cosmos 4K SE, Anker decided to force a firmware update that coincides with the unit's failure. I expected refurbished units sold by Anker-Direct to have gone through product testing to ensure reliability, but it's actually not the case.

Anker support has replied back to me and requested I submit a video demonstration of the sensor failure. But, it seems I'm the only one with this issue, so I might consider deleting this post if I'm the only one affected.

After my projector completed an auto-update (I'm pretty sure I disabled it when I received the unit) I'm having issues with the following:

1: Auto Keystone. My projector sensor area is clean and has a clear view of my screen but the projector notifies me to clean the sensor anyways.

2: Auto-focus calibration does not work. I figure I could try calibrating the autofocus to fix the autokeystone but it also doesn't work. My projector is levelled and about 6 ft away from the screen. Even if I try a manual calibration, it doesn't progress.

I assume the firmware update must have disabled the AI-Image Adjust sensor and the depth sensor.

I also completed a factory reset which also didn't let me continue signing into Google TV account. I'm stuck on a loop confirming my wifi details.

I sent an email to Nebula support but haven't heard back for days. I hear Nebula support is not too great, so I hope I can get some tips here. Thanks in advance.
