Believe in yourself

Just a small reminder to believe in yourself. For me, that was the tipping point in lessening the length and strength of my attacks.

If you think you’re incapable of controlling your anxiety, you won’t be able to. Start by telling yourself “it’s my body, my brain, I can control it”.

Just had an episode tonight on my first night on vacation in Spain…I’ve been dreaming of this for almost a year, but the travelling, the new food, the jet lag, the new language and the intense heat go the best of me. However, in 15 minutes I was able to recollect myself, and hopefully will be able to enjoy a smoother trip in the next few days! I’m at 5mg of escitalopram only now since 6 months and I really hope one day I’ll be medication free!

Sport bar for FIFA?

Hi! We’ll be in Madrid this Saturday and we want to catch the Canada-Morocco game somewhere near centro. Do pretty much all bars play the World Cup in Spain? Any recommendations?

Appreciate it! Also following La Roja today 🇪🇸

Toronto Culture

Hi,

As a Montrealer visiting Toronto, what are the most “Torontians” things to do? What is seen as a classic?

What would be the Toronto equivalent of Quebec’s poutine, maple syrup, smoked meats, bagels or French culture (food, shows)?

My friends say Toronto has no identity, I’m trying to prove them wrong!!

First Brisket ever

Did my first brisket last week! Just bought my first house with my gf and decided to throw a party for my friends, as it was also their 30th birthday.

Did a 20lb prime brisket from the butcher, trimmed it, salt, pepper, little paprika and garlic powder, then overnight brining. Started it at 225F the next day for 6 hours, bumped it to 250F, wrapped at 165 after 9 hours and cooked it at 275 until 200 internal (+-3 hours).

Restes in the oven at 150 overnight and served for lunch! Was good, the pointe was amazing, but the flat turned out a bit dry. Overall, very happy for a first!
