I hate it when anti-A.I. artists make suffering while creating art look like a necessity.
Story time!
Many years ago, I learned how to play the piano. I had talent for it - and perfect pitch, so my mother took full advantage of that. She wanted me to get to the highest grade and get a teaching license, so she pushed hard for exam after exam (I did not know piano exams were a thing at the time), which led me to play the same pieces over and over and over again. And since I didn't know I had ADHD at the time, I gradually burned out despite begging for it all to stop or maybe just... slow down. By the time I reached Grade 4, my mother finally agreed to let me slow down. But by then, it was too late. My spark had been completely extinguished.
And this is the one thing which not a single person around me understands why I quit. Not my dad, my sister, or even my stepdad. They just believed that I simply "gave up" because it was "too hard". Learning a new piece wasn't hard as much as it was monotonous. While I still listen to music on a daily basis for inspiration and comfort, I don't play the piano any longer, although a part of me still wonders if I continued... because eventually I learned from an ex-classmate that you can just jump straight to Grade 8 itself.
So yes, antis, this is what "suffering" does to someone's hobby and even talent. And my case wasn't even self-inflicted. And till this day, I have avoided touching the piano because I am still reminded of the time, effort, and money I wasted on something I enjoyed which was unfortunately weaponised and turned into something akin to a chore. Which is why I can't help but feel pity and disdain when someone says that "art must involve suffering to be created". I don't deny that effort needs to be involved, but effort does not always mean "picking up a drawing tool". Even prompting requires effort, but anti-A.I. peeps refuse to look past the typing.
Antis be like:
"Just admit you used ai, we'll still send shit your way, you just gotta suck it up"

It's funny how it's expected for us to be transparent about using A.I. when all it does is invite more hate. Also, this reminds me of Heartopia, in which the devs confessed to using A.I. art for their jigsaw puzzles, and many ppl in the official server complained about it. Like uhh... it's not even used in the main graphics so what's the big deal?? While I don't approve of the devs lying about it (idek if that is true), it's merely for a poster, not the in-game graphics, so I don't see it being a big deal... unlike certain YT advertisements I keep getting bombarded with, which are one of the few things I can say are "A.I. slop".
For context, this individual posted three images of Genshin characters with different hairstyles which seem to be ai-generated, and while I have yet to see any anti-ai comments, the fact that they wound up having to make this apology is sad imo.
Having a goddamned machine ruin your day is wild...
