r/Donghua

The reason I'm asking is that I'm studying animation and wanted to work in anime or something 2D-related. I haven't really tried 3D much yet, so I don't know if I'll like it or not.

Recently, I read an article about how donghua is becoming increasingly relevant. It talked about the animation quality, the time they take to produce it, and how they treat their workers—and to be honest, that last part is what interests me the most.

See, I wanted (or still want) to work in the Japanese industry since, as I mentioned, I don't know anything about 3D, and in the US as well as other countries, the industry is shifting heavily toward 3D. The problem is the massive overwork and exploitation in Japan. Even though I'm not super informed, I know those aren't conditions anyone should have to work in, which is why the growth of donghua caught my attention.

So far, I've only watched Fog Hill of Five Elements and I'm currently watching To Be Hero X, so I don't know much about what the donghua industry is like yet, and there isn't much information online about it either (at least I haven't been able to find much).

With that context out of the way, my questions are:

How different is the industry in China compared to Japan? Do they treat their workers better?

What's the main focus of donghua: 2D or 3D?

What are the chances for a foreigner to get a job (even freelance) in China?

I'd really appreciate it if you could help answer my questions. Btw I already asked this but in Spanish, so I thought that it would be better to ask in English

I've been watching through a decent amount of Donghua and would like to hear others opinions on which characters they believe has the best outfit styles as they ascend. It seems almost mandatory that some of them get better with each ascension though have seen a few where it seemed like backslid a bit.

Renegade Immortal has been rather nice with having the two bodies with own outfits and fusion forms.

Edit: Post is partially to get ideas on next ones may watch since the outfit changes are one of the parts I find interesting.
