Has anyone ever used those auto-cat-groomers that mimic a cat's tongue and do cats actually like them?

I keep seeing those automatic cat groomers that are supposed to mimic the feeling of another cat grooming them, and I’m honestly curious if cats actually enjoy them or if it’s more of a gimmick. The idea sounds cool, especially for cats that shed a lot or like being brushed, but I can also see some cats completely ignoring it. I’ve been looking into them lately and wanted to hear from people who’ve actually tried one. Did your cat end up using it regularly or lose interest after a few days?

So I’m new to the whole cat thing. I’ve got a dog, but my brother’s living with me for a bit and he brought his three cats, so I’m trying to work out how to look after them. I am gone most of the day for work and got me wondering if they are drinking enough when I am gone. I’ve just been putting out a couple of bowls of water but it’s hard to tell if they’re using them or not, especially with three of them in the same space.

I keep seeing things about cat water fountains and how they are good for hydration because the water is always moving, but I don’t know if that’s something I actually need or if I’m overthinking it. Also heard about putting water in different spots or giving more wet food but not sure what the normal way to do this is.

Has anyone else been in a similar position or has any advice? Just trying to make sure I'm not screwing this up while they're here.
