Nursing in 40s

Hi! I just want to ask any experience of those of you here who went back to nursing after over a decade of not doing the profession? I've graduated in 2009 then passed the board exam November of that year. During that time, there are more of us nurses than available positions in the hospitals so we basically have to pay them so we can just get the experience we need. I probably have a few months of bedside nursing then quit to focus on making a livable wage through work from home (freelance writing and VA) and tutoring. I also had a year of experience as school nurse because I missed the profession that time but resigned because the wage is really not enough (I have to work multiple jobs after school nurse job). Not too long after that, met my husband and now living in the states. I chose to be a SAHM to save on childcare cost and also, to be there for my child. Fast forward, we now have 2 kids and been a SAHM for 9 years now. My kids are still young (9 and 4 and are homeschooled) but I'm starting to contemplate to get back to nursing kahit per diem lang muna. I haven't had my credentials evaluated and yet to take the NCLEX. My question is, how's the transition after years of not doing it? I'm aware that I would have to do some sort of refresher. Salamat!

Supporting spouse with shingles

Hi! My husband (50M) was diagnosed with shingles this weekend. It started of with numbness/tingling sensation along his left arm. We initially thought it's due to his shoulder injury as he's been having on/off shoulder pain (same side) for months now. He went to ER on Friday but referred to see an Ortho. On Saturday morning, he noticed a small patch on his palm and we thought it's just from leaning on his work desk, but it just feels odd. Saturday afternoon we noticed more rashes on the same side but we thought it's the arm sling as he's been supporting his arm with that. My husband took a bunch of photos of the rashes and Googled them and that's where the idea of shingles came along. He went to ER that afternoon and it was confirmed. He's been taking anti viral since then and was also prescribed with gabapentin. My husband doesn't expressed it a lot but I know he's in so much pain/discomfort. Aside from rest and medication, what are the things that help you go through with it? Looking for ways to support him as I can't imagine the physical and mental toll this disease brings.

Is there a way to minimize these scratches on glass stovetop?

I was using Weiman earlier to get rid of the burnt stain but have used the scouring pad (that comes with it) for all other surface 🤦‍♀️ I got rid of the stain but now, I'm left with these scratches 😭 Any tips to minimize these scratches? Aside from replacement, any way to remove these? We've had this stovetop for almost 7 years and we've been very careful not to cause scratches and here I am with my cleaning adventure 😬

Hi! This is my first pair of bedrock. I love how lightweight they are and easy to adjust but these feel a bit big? These are women's size 9.
