RE: Bodum "Moka" Pot

RE: Bodum "Moka" Pot

Greetings:

I was searching the web for unusual designs of moka pots. To my surprise the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art is selling a Bodum Chambord style moka pot. Yes, Bodum, the famous manufacturer of the French Press.

Here is the link: https://store.moma.org/collections/bodum-kitchen-designs/products/bodum-chambord-stainless-steel-espresso-maker-dark-coral

Elsewhere it's sold under $20.in coral and blue at https://archersautocare.com/

There's a video with an all steel model from Seattle Coffee Gear from 13 years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yT--3Xf1GdM&t=1s

I don't see it currently listed on the Bodum web site: it may be a special item for the MOMA or it's discontinued.

Anybody have any experience with these, as it looks beautiful

Cheers.

RE: Finding sources for various Italian Nespresso Capsule

Greetings once again.

I was searching the web to find companies that sell various brands of Italian Nespresso capsules. Espresso International (https://www.espresso-international.us/) has quite a large variety, but being based in Europe could lead to costly shipping an issues with US customs.

Just by chance, I came across an American company based in Massachusetts: Espresso Tiamo (https://www.espressotiamo.com/). They offer a very wide selection of Italian espressos at a very good prices with low shipping. They also sell beans, ESE and Nespresso capsules on Amazon.

Has anybody ordered from them? Are there other companies like these two that offer a wide selection of Italian Nespresso capsules?

BTW: I'm not affiliated with this company.

Best regards.

Finding a New Original Nespresso Machine That Can Take L'Or and 3rd Party Pods

Greetings.

I know this has been asked a zillion times. Nonetheless from what I gather, currently in mid 2026 there are few choices for inexpensive original Nespresso type machines. At the low end, I do see that the original Nespresso Essenza and CitiZ machines are currently for sale on Amazon. But I understand that the L'Or Barista has been discontinued, which was very economical and that would have been closer for my price point of under $100..

So, my questions are:

  1. On Amazon, there are many other 3rd party original machines, with good reviews, selling for under $100. Are they reliable or should I stick with Nespresso?
  2. As for inexpensive 3rd party original compatible Nespresso pods, such as those on Amazon, do they cause problems with the current Essenza and CitiZ machines? Somewhere, I saw something about a gasket and leakage....
  3. Is it work buying a "so-called" new or refurbished machine on ebay or taking a risk on a thrift store machine?

Again, i do apologize for asking these annoying questions, but I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks again
