Liners for wooden shelves to ensure no heat is transferred to the wood that could lead to damage, what should I use?

I am trying to figure out what kind of material would work the best for lining shelves because I need something that will facilitate cooling and allow my candles to cool quickly without transferring heat to the wooden shelves below. Right now the grip shelf liners that I am using are not suitable and I have damaged a few shelves, I am a renter so I dont want to do that again.

I see that the heat and moisture is getting trapped in the liner and not working, I was told corkboard might be good but that also insualtes the heat, I need something that will dissapate it. I was wondering if anyone knows of what kind of material would be suitable for this. I found something called cooling mats or ice mats, they are sometimes used on buffet tables on sites like alibaba and amazon and they are made out of some plastic kind of material that I think you put in the freezer. I was wondering if anyone has used these before to put their warm candles on?

Using corkboard to cool shot candles on wooden shelves, will it work?

I have been wanting to upgrade my candle making setup so that when I cool candles I put them on shelves with grip shelf liners the only problem is that recently because its gotten warmer when the wax drops on the liners it doesnt come off. I was thinking of getting corkboard to put on the shelves so that even if wax drops it will be easier to do clean up but I was wondering how have others done this? Like how does the corkboard come, is it similar to liners of shelves that you can purchase and just peel off and place on the shelf?

The other problem is I don't want ot damage the shelving of the house because i am renting and I read that corkboard can trap heat underneath it and this could be a problem, it can also slow down the cooling process? I am assuming the corkboard will be something similar to the hot pads we put down on the dining table when we place a hot dish? Any ideas of other kinds of material I could use?

Shelf liners that are easy to clean up, especially if hot wax drops on them?

I am a candle maker that has a home based business and recently decided to cover my shelves with something to protect the finish of the wood from the heat of warm candle holders that I place down. I noticed in some cases it has discolored the wood and I was wondering what would be. good shelf grip liner to use that would prevent this from happening but also be easy to clean up if hot wax spilled.

I especially want something that can be cleaned up really easily because I dont want to be bothered with having to keep replacing them. I realized there has been some major upgrade in this department since the last time I was out ot purchase these. I actually used newspaper or old wrapping paper but now there are plastic and other kinds of materials that can be used to line shelves and protect the surface, I saw a bunch for sale on sites like walmart, amazon and alibaba and was wondering if others have purchased from sites like these what was their expierence?
