Why do you think men outnumber women on dating/hookup apps?

Not really here to debate. Mainly just looking to see opinions and perspectives. Everyone knows that men outnumber women on dating/hookup apps. Why do you think that is?

I use Tinder, Bumble, and occasionally Hinge. Mainly either when I’m bored or actually interested in a relationship or fwb (usually early in the semester before stress kicks in, or in the summer). A few of my friends use it occasionally just like me, and we’ve all said we have 99+ likes within the first hour and multiple matches everyday (on Tinder & Bumble, not Hinge).

I’m a woman and honestly not 100% sure why. Maybe it has to do with women being less interested in casual sex than men? But men also outnumber women for serious relationship apps too, so I don’t know.

ELI5: Why do so many people want to get tan?

Generally, darker skin tones are the ones that are seen as less beautiful and people with darker skin are more likely to get bullied and excluded because of their skin color.

Despite that, I’ve noticed that a lot of people want to get tan. They talk about needing to be at the beach for hours, going to get fake tans, and being sad that they can’t get tan naturally with sunlight. Why do they want to get tan so badly? Their skin color is perfectly fine.

I’m hoping this fits in the biology category, but it also maybe seems like a psychology or sociology thing.

Has a straight woman ever ended things with you (ex. unmatch on tinder, breakup, cancel date, etc.) after finding out you’re bisexual? How soon do you tell straight women that you’re bisexual? If you’re on dating apps, do you have it on your profile?
