I've been revisiting Dallas of late, watching clips as posted online (I might give the series a rewatch, but not sure yet). However, on my way to work this morning, I had a fleeting thought that made me laugh: what if, instead of Fitz sitting in front of Eli during the you-are-a-boy monologue on Scandal, it was JR? Which one could out-petty the other?

I don't know. My money's on Eli--but JR was a master at taking jabs at anyone he thought deserved it. It wouldn't be as easy to come for him as it was Fitz. 😂​

That stunning, commanding deep voice was key to a lot of what made JR a magical character. But he had it while playing Maj. Nelson too. Watching both shows again all these later and hearing him talk is such a gift.
