J1 is a dream. Fully remote full time roll that takes me 0-5 hours per week. I’ve been there 3.5 years and it’s always been a light workload, but I’ve gotten more efficient with my work over time and there’s been enough restructuring that I truly think everyone assumes I’m super busy.

J2 is a part-time contract role at $75/ hour. Usually 0-5 hours per week. Easy.

Obviously I have time for a J3! So started J3 about 6 months ago, and it’s a standard fully remote role. Usually 30-40 hours per week. I’m trying really hard to get all 3 jobs done in 40 hours. Some weeks are slightly over. I know some of you are putting in way more hours than that, and I don’t know how you do it.

The people and my boss at J3 are really nice, but everyone is stressed and cares sooo much. I’m trying to adopt the “coast and do the bare minimum” mindset, but it’s hard when everyone acts like everything is urgent (it’s not). Every project has way too many cooks in the kitchen and I get so many slack messages that I’m exhausted by the end of the day.

I’m daydreaming about quitting J3. I feel bad about leaving after 6 months (I know I shouldn’t, but easier said than done). But with just J1 and J2 I’d have so much time in my day to workout, cook, read, and do things that bring me joy. But then without J3 I wouldn’t be growing my savings at all. I live in a HCOL city. No kids right now, but I do want 1-2 in the future.

What I really want is to find another job like J1, but I feel like I won’t get that lucky again.

Anyone else struggle with this? Advice and words of encouragement greatly appreciated.

Hi! 30F, been trying out products and think I have a good routine, but looking for a few recs! (Questions at the end)

AM routine:

  1. Dr. Jart Cicapair gentle cleansing foam

  2. Skin Ceuticals phyto corrective gel

  3. Skin Ceuticals redness neutralizer moisturizer

  4. Supergoop mineral matte screen (SPF 40)

PM routine:

  1. Cetaphil redness relieving foam cleanser

  2. Mario Badescue aloe toner

  3. Skin Ceuticals phyto corrective gel

  4. The Ordinary azelaic acid 10% (want to start rotating with a retinol - see question below)

  5. Cetaphil pm redness relieving moisturizer

Questions:

  1. I just turned 30 and feel like I should start using a retinol. I know not to use it the same nights as azelaic acid. But assuming it’s okay to alternate azelaic acid and retinol every other night? Any recommendations for a beginner and rosacea friendly one to start with? Also just heard about body lotion with retinol for chest and neck. Thoughts?

  2. Any recommendations for moisturizers with SPF for neck and chest that doesn’t feel sunscreeny and aren’t super expensive? I don’t want to use the Supergoop matte screen on more than my face since it’s expensive and the tint makes it feel more like makeup.

  3. I really prefer a foaming cleanser. It’s just more satisfying to use. Is using these two foaming cleansers too stripping?

  4. Face acne isn’t really a concern, but I do occasionally get bacne and I have fine hair that gets greasy quickly. I want to start using The Ordinary salicylic acid on my back and on my scalp 10 minutes before I shower a few times a week. I’ve read that it can increase sun sensitivity. My scalp/ part does occasionally get sunburnt since my hair is so thin. Should I be worried about this?
