Awesome! Privacy setting overrides added at the Folder level, BUT

Was excited to see that this has finally be implemented, but it seems like there's still a cap on how many videos can be bulk updated at a time.

As you can see in the screenshot, I tried applying a global password update to 773 videos at once, but it failed to make the change. There was no error message or anything, it just didn't work. So I had to go back to updating in batches of 50, although I was able to do that at the folder-level which was incrementally better than previously.

So, am I correct that Vimeo still has a hard cap on how many videos can be bulk updated at once? And is the cap still 50? Is there any general reason why that limitation exists?

Are broken promo codes still an issue on VOD pages?

I'm trying to test a VOD page with a client and need them to use a promo code I set up for them. Is this banner still accurate?

Due to ongoing site maintenance, some buyers may be experiencing issues with promo codes. We are also working to improve the Vimeo On Demand pre-order experience, and pre-order setup is not available for the time being. Pre-ordering will be available again soon. In the meantime, please contact Vimeo Support with any questions.

And if so, why the heck is this still "ongoing"? What's the holdup on getting this "improved" experience / functionality sorted and implemented?

Should the Admin role be able to create portfolio collections?

Based on the role outline here, it seems like they should: https://help.vimeo.com/hc/en-us/articles/12425417783697-About-member-roles-on-Vimeo

"Admins can access all content on the account, including videos created by other members, and have Can manage access by default. They can also use all features and tools, manage settings, brand kits, and add and remove members."

I gave a co-worker Admin privileges, but they cannot access Collection creation; they get a screen with some text about upgrading, and then a few other options. For example, they can create a showcase.

Why can Admins create showcases, but not portfolios?

Unfinished corner of bathroom - how to seal?

Pics: https://imgur.com/a/hjD8li3

This corner is behind a radiator and typically enclosed by the radiator cover / counter, so not visible.

I’m concerned about the gaps along the floor and where the walls meet, mostly because of heat loss. We have an exhaust fan and run a dehumdifier after showering.

Whats a good practical way to seal the gaps, Caulk? Low expansion window / door spray foam? Any other factors to consider here?

Duplicate messages bug

Whenever I reload an order page where I'm messaging with the buyer, it duplicates and re-posts the last message I sent. This has been a bug for me for awhile, and happens on both mobile browser and desktop browser.

Is this a known bug? Has anyone else experienced it?

29.97 ProRes masters with interlacing / telecine - how to handle in Handbrake

I have two ProRes masters that are 29.97fps. I'm trying to make MP4s for delivery.

My first attempts resulted in files with obvious combing / interlaced video, stuttering during panning shots, etc.

For my second attempt, I did not use any Filters and instead set the frame rate to 59.94 constant. This produced much better results, but I'm pretty sure there is still some minor combing present here and there, and possibly some blurring during certain motions (people gesturing with their hands during a talking head interview, for example).

Do I need to also be using a Filter when I double the framerate? And for 29.97 NTSC master content, should I be using Detelecine or Deinterlace? Or both? Is this just trial and error?

Methods for repairing shared basement brick wall

I had my old cast iron waste stack replaced with pvc, and the plumbing team removed enough brick and plaster (?) that there is light coming through from the neigbors.

What are some acceptable / proper methods for sealing this up again? Neighbor is cool with however we decide to apparoach it.

I'm taking a deep dive into the Account-level settings for Meetins and Webinars, trying to balance security concerns (AI assistants/bots in particular) with audience-friendly settings that don't restrict too much functionality/accessibility or degrade the viewer experience. I'm tired of looking up individual settings piecemeal and only seeing general "how to" info that doesn't give much detail or context.

Any suggestions appreciated.

We're longtime Vimeo account holders and have been selling Vimeo On Demand for years. Got the stated banner prompt today, and when I click on it to verify I get the following error:

  • New seller enrollment on Vimeo On Demand is temporarily unavailable. We'll share updates as they become available. For help, please contact support. *

Huh? I'm not a new seller, and I'm not enrolling.

"contact support" is a hotlink that leads to:

https://help.vimeo.com/hc/en-us/articles/29181878995729-How-to-verify-and-display-my-contact-information-as-a-Vimeo-On-Demand-seller

We went through the verfication process successfully last year so, again, huh?

And at the top of that page it says:

⚠️ Temporary Limitation: VoD Seller Verification Unavailable

Verification of VOD seller contact information is currently unavailable due to ongoing security maintenance on the platform. As a result:

New VOD pages cannot be created
Existing VOD sellers cannot update their payment details, as this requires re-verification

So...what? Why push out that "Reconnect" banner prompt if it can't actually be done because of "ongoing security maintenance"?

I was attempting to pay for an online order with my Aven Rewards card, and it kept getting blocked. "Purchases at this category of merchant have been blocked" was the error message I received via push notification.

I finally spoke with an rep who called me back (they did not open at their stated time today, and did not answer the phone), and the rep stated that AVen cards cannot be used to purchase "games" or "video games" from online stores they have determined sell games. The item I was buying was not a game, but the store does sell them.

I asked if this would happen even if I purchased another non-game product from the same store and they said "yes."

So, I expressed my frustration and asked where in their Terms & Conditions or card member guidelines these restrictions are stated so I could reference them. Surprise, they're not listed anywhere.

A lot of apologies and inaction followed. Rep said they cannot unblock the transaction.

Just wanted others to be aware. This is a lame restriction that they probably won't publicize, because why apply for or choose an Aven card when there are random unstated restrictions on what you can actually buy with the card?

Used my Capital One Quicksilver card to pay instead, without issue.
