Dealing with flare after reducing Lexapro dosage

Hi!
About 2.5 weeks ago I rescued my Lexapro dosage from 10mg to 5mg bc I felt very foggy and fatigued a lot. However, through a combo of VRT and the 10mg I managed to feel about 80% less dizzy, and could go day to day with barely thinking about my symptoms. Unfortunately, dropping my dosage did give me some pretty nasty withdrawal symptoms that lasted for about a week and a half and ended in some pretty nasty fatigue. Since Friday I have been a lot dizzier and unstable, which I have not had this bad in a few months. Even though I think it was the right call to lower my dosage because it was hard to function, I am worried that I messed my progress up. I am starting grad school soon, and am also very anxious which may have contributed to this flare. Any advice or encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Withdrawal from Lexapro-advice?

Hi! A week ago I decided to reduce from 10mg Lexapro to 5mg because I felt far too fatigued and foggy at 10mg. I was only on 10mg for 8 weeks and never seemed to stabilize. I felt great first few days but the 3rd day I started experiencing pretty nasty withdrawal symptoms, and my pppd has flared pretty badly the last day or two. I am wondering if I should go up to 7.5mg for now to help myself, as I am not feeling well at all at the moment. I reached out to my doctor, but he seems to think I have a viral infection, even though I do not have a fever or anything. Any advice would be appreciated thank you!

Reducing dose 10mg to 5mg

Hi,
I have been on 10mg Lexapro for about 8 weeks now, but it truly was making me too spacey and fatigued to the point I felt it hard to function. I gave it the full 8 weeks to even out, but even after some periods of relief it just got worse. 4 days ago I reduced my dose from 10mg to 5mg in hopes of getting rid of fatigue, which seemed to help almost instantly the next day or two-I felt great. However, yesterday I was out shopping and experienced a headache, then some light headedness and cold sweats. I felt fine after resting for an hour or two, but the same thing happened to me when I was out this morning in the heat and I feel weak. I would like to note that it is very hot and humid near me. I appreciate the lack of sleepiness, but I’m worried about side effects from lowering my dose. Any advice would be appreciated!

Ongoing PPPD and Meds-advice?

Hi! Long ish post ahead sorry
I have been dealing with vertigo and dizziness since an initial case of vestibular neuritis and dizziness in late October last year. I was able to recover a decent amount in the month following, but never got back to “normal”. One of the big symptoms I continued to face from November-February was extreme fatigue, even on days where I didn’t have much dizziness symptoms. Usually this fatigue would kick in mid afternoon after my morning classes and I would have to lie down until it went away, but I was largely ok other than that. I almost felt like I was having an out of body experience, as I always have been a very active and energetic person( played a competitive sport for many years and also in college). However, late February I was faint for a week straight for reasons unknown( possibly stress), and afterwards I started feeling a totally different kind of dizziness. From March until now I have felt unsteady, like sinking into the ground, increased fatigue, especially after exercise, neck pain, a feeling of being “out of it”, and extreme fatigue and worsening dizziness after 6pm. I would have occasional periods or weeks where I would feel better for a bit in March, but ever since early April my symptoms got much worse. I was barely able to make it through the back half of my senior semester of college, and honestly felt like a shell of myself and that I missed out on a lot of things. Since summer break, I had some periods of feeling better and worse, and a month ago I started 10mg of Lexapro and VRT to hopefully help me. I have not noticed many positive side effects from the Lexapro yet aside from reduced dizziness and sometimes more energy in evenings, but over the last 2 weeks the Lexapro has seemed to make me even more tired and foggy. I’m hoping things will follow the cycle of getting worse and then getting better, as the last few weeks have been pretty rough symptom-wise, and I’m worried if I will be able to attend law school this fall. I have been trying to get back to a normal level of exercise, but I just feel so weak and defeated even after workouts I would consider easy in the past. Any advice on medication journeys or other would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Fatigue and Dosage

Hi! I recently started Lexapro about a month ago to treat my anxiety and PPPD dizziness. I was at 5mg for a few days, then ramped up to 10mg. I’m coming up on 5 weeks at 10mg and have had many different side effects that have mostly come and gone but the one thing that has been lingering is this crushing fatigue. I had been having fatigue from the PPPD for months, but the Lexapro seems to have increased it. Sometimes I feel too tired and foggy to really do anything, and usually need to lie down for a while after being active during the first part of the day. I was wondering if anyone else had experienced the same thing and if it had gone away? I plan on staying at 10mg for another week or so and considering switching back down to 5 if this stays an issue. Thanks!
