What was your "End of an Era" moment in San Francisco?
My "End of an Era" moment was seeing the KFC / TACO Bell on Guerrero and Duboce closed. Another was seeing the Shell Gas Station on 16th and Guerrero looking like it's closing. Another one is the Safeway in the Fillmore closing.
California burrito with fries
My husband is from San Diego and really wants a burrito for his birthday. We’ve not found many places here that are comparable to San Diego Mexican food and I’m hoping to find a solid California burrito that offers fries, no rice or beans.
Does anyone know if we have any options? We found one on Polk, it was okay.
Thanks in advance!
Edit: wow this blew up, you guys are not disappointing!! I don’t have time to respond to everyone right now, but we will be trying a shit ton of your suggestions throughout the year and see what the best contenders are. Thanks so much everyone, you’re the best💕
If NYC has 5 boroughs, how many does SF have, and which ones are the SF equivalent of NYC boroughs? Or would you spread it out across the entire bay including OAK, Alameda, South City, MarinSonoma, CoCoCo, etc.
Name the boroughs in SF that would be sister boroughs of the ones in NYC. Or describe the city as if it were grouped like NYC is.
Are all rentals going to over listed price?
Been apartment hunting for 19 days full time. Have been told I was first in a first come and first serve until a mystery new app found from the day before. Been told my app was second landlord choice for 3 other places despite applying within minutes of listing. Am I supposed to automatically offer over listing? Even if it pushes a 1 bedroom to 6K? I'm exhausted and need a home. Even if that home takes all my money and I can never afford to go out.
Insane Rental Market
This is partially a rant, partially looking for advice. I lived in the city for a few years a few years back and was able to find a studio in pac heights for $1500, and back then there were ample options all around, tons of listings. I moved around a bit but I’m moving back to the city with 2 other roommates so were trying to find 3 bedrooms, our budgets are about $1800 each. I know this city is god damn expesnive, but our criteria is basically “not the tenderloin” and pretty much don’t care about anything else. We are even looking at 2 bedrooms and turning the living room into a room. Theres just. Nothing? There are about 5 apartments within our criteria that have been posted in the last week, and none of them get back to us because they have sometimes hundreds of responses by the first day. We are looking on everything. FBM, Craigslist, Zillow, Apartments Com, real estate websites. There just doesn’t seem to be ANYTHING. Again, I know this is a tough city to find a place in, but does it get better? Is this a bad time of year to look? We are at the latest moving in September, so if anyone has advice on if theres a better time to look I would appreciate it. I just feel like I’m going insane. I would really love to live here but at this point we mag just have to go to the east bay because this is insane.
best bars for meeting guys in their late 20s?
my friend and I are currently visiting SF for a few days and were wondering what the best bars for meeting guys in their late 20s would be? we're both in our mid 20s, so not looking for a fresh out of college crowd, maybe a bit older and skewing towards bar rather than the club. any suggestions are welcome!
edit: we're two women looking for men! should have clarified oops
