Brought my own eye protection (mine was Bolle X1000 vented) to my second airsoft session and was informed that ‘non-rental’ eye protection had to be ‘tested’.

This consisted of the glasses being placed on the ground and shot from a couple of metres away with some powerful sniping rifle (don’t know make/model).

Staff member took one look and said something to the effect of ‘made in Taiwan; better test it’. This seems strange as even a noob like me knows that Taiwan produces loads of good quality airsoft gear.

The ‘test’ left a dent directly in front of my right eye when worn. Not only has this degraded the quality of vision through my new £70 glasses but also, according to the manufacturer information, requires the lenses to be replaced.

Anyone else experienced this?

Edit: They were perfectly happy for me to use the glasses after they ‘proofed’ them by damaging them…
