PoTS and Healthcare Jobs

Hiya!
I’ll be becoming an Emergency Care Assistant with East of England Ambulance Service in September
I’ve just had an OH review again as it wasn’t on my OH record before getting an unconditional offer for the role starting 10th Sept.
I discussed my symptoms with OH and they can’t clear me as of yet as I still get dizziness in the mornings / prolonged sitting / laying periods and got told it’ll affect my driving (which day to day it doesn’t when I drive my car & work van which is similar size to Ambulances but under C1 limit)

I’ve got a cardiology review this Wednesday to finally get a diagnosis, what questions should I ask to the cardiologist / meds should I question about to help as I’m already on Propranolol 40mg 3x a day and that’s the max dose that’ll help these minor episodes I’m still getting?

I’ve had one major episode end of June / start of July due to the heat and having blacked vision but no loss of consciousness and occasionally get palpitations depending on the severity of the episode day to day and find that Propranolol has definitely helped control the severity of the symptoms and lowered my HR significantly from prior to starting Propranolol from 10mg all the way up to 40

Thank you!!

ECA & PoTS

Hiya!
Already posted a few months ago about how PoTS affects the job, I’ve just had an OH review again as it wasn’t on my OH record before getting an unconditional offer for the role starting 10th Sept.

EEAST Expenses - Accommodation

Hey all!
Happy International Paramedics Day!

I’m starting the AECA job in September and looking at accommodation as I’ll be training in Norwich but live in Milton Keynes. Due to the 14 week training I’m looking at a house share, would this be expensed as per there policy or do they limit it to hotels etc?
I just feel 14 weeks in a hotel would be so expensive and I doubt they’d try and force people to book a hotel for 14 weeks but need some opinions from previous AECAs and there experience with accommodation :-)

Thank you!

Frontline and POTS

Hey!
I’ll be receiving my unconditional offer for AECA role with EEAST relatively soon as I’ve now completed and passed my C1 theory and undergoing investigation at the GP for POTS.
I’m just wondering if there’s anyone with POTS or have colleagues working frontline with POTS and how they manage with symptoms, get around Occupational Health etc as I really don’t want it affecting my future career being 18 at the moment.
Thanks!

Festival Camping - Tent Recommendations

Hey everyone,
Looking at getting a tent for Reading Festival this August - I’m potentially looking at the Eurohike Avon 3 DLX / Berghaus Adhara 300
Obviously I don’t want to spend too much because it would potentially get recked - just want some advice / tips for festival camping as it’ll be my first one and want some recommendations for tentage

EEAST ECA Progression

Hey everyone!

I've just been given a conditional offer with EEAST for their Apprentice ECA position, and wondered what the progression was like to their Paramedic Apprenticeship?

Many thanks!
