Power out during heatwave on a sit

Has anyone had an issue where the power went out during a sit (completely out, not flickering) during a heat wave (100+ degree f temperatures and 110 with the heat index)?

Wondering if TSH will provide another accommodation for the sitter and pets. 👀

Extra table seat for 6/27 at Irving

Hi! I just snagged table seats for tonight’s (Saturday) show at Irving Plaza, but only need one so listed the extra on Ticketmaster. (My elder millennial body doesn’t want to stand all night so I had been looking for a last minute one.)

Also have an extra ga admission ticket now if anyone wants it for free - Ticketmaster won’t let me lower the price so :)

Replacing infotainment?

Has anyone had to replace the infotainment unit or screen?

For context, have a 2021 xc40 that I bought certified pre owned from a Volvo dealer in 2023 (45k miles at that time) . Within the first few days, I noticed it was randomly dropping the usb connection to my phone. Took it in, they didn’t find anything, said use a different cord, etc. Have used different cords, used a different phone, got a new phone, got the usb port replaced as well - and my phone has never dropped connection with rental cars. It’s now dropping more and more, and unplugging and plugging back in doesn’t work often anymore. It takes a few minutes of unplugging or turning the car off entirely for it to work again.

The infotainment has also completely gone dark multiple times including twice when in drive, and twice when backing up. (When I put the car in reverse, the whole thing went dark, came back a few seconds after putting it in drive.)

Dealer quoted $3500-4500 usd for replacing the unit or screen (more for both). Said it’s not a normal thing to happen 🧐

Discovered thanks to this sub - I just visited Valley’s bakery in Marietta, Georgia today for the first time and o. M. G. I ordered a bunch of stuff, ate a beef empanada and cinnamon twist, and then ordered a bunch more to take home. The flaky pastries are so good they just melt in your mouth 😋

(Editing to add it’s a fully gluten free bakery)

A few things they have that are rare:

Pain au chocolat

Cinnamon twists

Turnovers of allll kinds

Cookie flavors that are not super common (red velvet, cherry chocolate chip)

Jelly-filled donuts

10/10 would recommend!

Brb going to eat more
